If they must win 3 games

Is there another tourney after this ???? ;)

Following the proposed BCS model, there will be a +2 tournament at the end of the postseason, now known as the post post season. The winner of the #1 Tournament (NCAA) will host the winner of the #4 Tournament (CIT). The #2 Seeded NIT winner will host the #3 Seeded CBI winner. The winners of those games will play in the "Ultimate Championship ShowThrowDown" in Honolulu on April 13th. It is rumored that the winner of that game will get to play the winner of the NBA championship, sometime after the NBA playoffs end in mid-October of next year.

you guys do realize this is a best of 3 games series right? The last two years went 3 games....I hope we only win 2 though... :D

And you realize that once a team wins 2 of those games it's over right? No need to win 3....

I figured SLU would let us play that additional game since we are there already and they have a young team and maybe let us pad our stats while they gain experience

Nice save.

Regardless of our offensive prowess, this team needs to develop more of a "defensive posture" if it's going to improve..........we are a little too soft defensively at times.

Last three games (against GW, Charleston, BU); two in Richmond:

GW - 73 (offensive efficiency: 152nd)
Charleston - 86 (offensive efficiency: 69th)
BU - 75 (offensive efficiency: 136th)

I understand we play a bit up-tempo and we're "heavy possession" oriented, but we're still a little too soft defensively, particularly considering we have a rare 6'11" shotblocker in the middle w/ a 7'7" wingspan (longest in the nation I believe). Our defensive efficiency ranking is 91st. With a guy like Larry in the middle and all of our so-called athleticism on the perimeter, it should be a little better.

This season, when we needed crucial stops on the road in big games, we couldn't seem to get 'em (at GMU, at ODU, ODU in the tourney, at JMU, at W&M, at NU). Even at home, we've given up some alarming numbers at times. Now, our victory margin is solid (+10.0) so a lot of it is tempo-oriented (extra possessions). Our offensive efficiency ranking is 31 (very solid; NCAA-worthy). But the defense needs work. With Larry gone next year, we're really going to need to step up our D if we want to achieve our goals.

ODU's defensive efficiency ranking was 11th (that's why they danced). They could get stops when they absolutely needed them; especially against us.

In 2009 (NCAA year) w/ Larry, our defensive efficiency was 45th. In 2008, it was 28 (w/ Larry). In 2004 (NCAA year), 55th. This year it slipped to 91.

Don't forget, he has another whole season to climb up that list! If he progresses this offseason like he has the last 3 seasons... ummm... WATCH OUT!
