-Keith Coleman, Lee Academy: With VCU coaches hot on his trail following him even to stations, Coleman was one of the most impressive big men at the session. Coleman, a Philly native who is set to begin his second season at Lee Academy in the fall, at 6'9 and 250 lbs is a mountain of a man. He pairs the massive frame with a series of nimble post moves and a propensity to block any shot that comes near him.

that's the kind of frame that could destroy this league if the game is anywhere near the physical tools and that part of it seems to suggest it has the potential to be.

Keith Coleman (2011, 6'9”, 5, RR-8) stuck out to me while I watched the game. Coleman is a tough post player who has a good stroke out to 15' and an array of moves with his back to the basket.

Keith Coleman (2011, 6-8 PF/C)
Keith had a strong outing in Sunday's quarterfinal win. The big man did a little of everything. He ran the floor and scored a few times on the break, including an athletic dunk. He cleared rebound after rebound, including a couple follow up plays. He was fouled on one of those and converted at the line for an old fashioned three point play. Keith also flashed his athletic ability with a pair of early blocks on the defensive end. He did a fine job of making things happen on this talent laden squad.

Keith Coleman '11, Cheltenham (PA)
If there is one word to sum up Keith Coleman it would have to be large. Although he moves awkwardly on the court, Coleman's huge frame, paired with his ability to step out and hit a mid-range J, make him special. In the paint, Coleman does a good job on the glass and dunks just about everything down there. He is still somewhat raw, but has the look of a big-time player.

I would not be surprised to see this kid as a top priority of VCU's for 2011. Follow him closely. ;)

Definitely a high priority for the Rams!

If he doesn't end up with one of the 2011 scholarships, I will be surprised. I guess no one read between the lines on my earlier post. What do think our chances are RAMification? I have heard the coaching staff is really high on this kid.

Wolfpack Ram - You are absolutely right, the coaches are very high on Mr. Coleman.

Although he will be a tough get because he is a "big" with an NBA body, this staff has shown an amazing ability to land quality bigs. I really think we have a good shot at him. You are almost afraid to think things like that because recruiting is such a fluid process. I've seen recruiting scenarios change literally by the hour.

Keith Coleman, PF/C, Keystone State Blazers- What’s not to like about the physical 6-foot-8 big man from Philly who will is now at Lee Academy in Maine. He runs the floor, has a terrific basketball body with powerful shoulders, long arms and lean strength. Most importantly, he plays hard on each end. A very good passer with decent touch and he controls the glass. He’s right on that high major bubble.

Big man Keith Coleman rattled off a list of schools that included Marquette, VCU, Temple, Drexel, Miami, Penn State and Pitt. He said that VCU and Drexel have offered him scholarships.
