Hadnt heard about this player before, and cant find a listing on scout or espn, and no ranking on rivals, but it is part of a write up about Heat Academy in Martinsville.

if someone is a member and can read the article or knows anything about this program or anything about this particular player would be appreciated.

Gaines is a very solid center prospect. At this point-in-time he is a difference maker on defense and is working on his offensive skill-set. He is very raw offensively. I understand he is extremely athletic for a 6'10" 225lb. player.

He claims to have offers from Cincinnati, UCONN. Memphis, Oaklahoma, Miami and UAB among others. I'm not sure about the accuracy regarding offers.

At the present time he is not rated by any of the major scouting services but looks to be a very solid prospect.

thanks for the info. seems unlikely schools of that caliber would all have offered if no one has rated him to this point. moving on to the rest of what you said, not to blow him up but that scouting report sounds like someone we know well when he came a couple years ago.

My thoughts exactly

did anyone have membership to see if there was anything interesting in the article itself or is that what Ramification got from the article? sorry if it is.

Kelvin Gaines – Heat Academy – Schools such as BC, Miami and others are interested in Gaines, a 6’9” shot blocking machine. To say he changes the game with his presence is an understatement.

Offensively, Kelvin, a senior, must develop back to the basket footwork, and defensively not attempt to block every shot, but there is no doubt he can compete on the high major level.
