Ken Griffey Jr. retires after 22 seasons with 630 HR's. Sucks to see him retire but his at bats just havent been there, and you could see him struggling. He was the full time DH, but with his struggles got moved to a bench guy, and he felt the time was right. He had a wonderful career. 13 time All Star, 630 HR's (Currently 5th on the All Time Home Run List), 1,836 RBI's, 184 SB, .284 career avg., 2,781 career HIts.
Entered MLB w/ the Mariners in 1989 with Seattle Mariners where he remained until the end of the 1999 season. In 2000 he joined the Cincinatti Reds where he stayed until the the middle of 2008 when he got traded to the Chicago White Sox, and then it all came full circle where he rejoined the Seattle Mariners in 2009 and stayed there until today when he retired.
Clearly a Hall of Fame career, the only questions remain are:
1. Will he get in on First ballot which will be in 2015 assuming he does stay retired which I think he will.
2. Will it be a Unanimous selection to the Hall of Fame? I would find it hard not to be unanimous as great of a player he was.
