Larry Sanders Declares for NBA Draft

Boston will take him. He will sit behind KG for a couple years developing and learning. And I will be forced to like a team from Boston.... ugh.

I doubt he'll even get drafted.....would you rather have him or some European kid with polish and professionalism??
Mid to late 2nd round...if at all....which means NO guarantees

Pav....Loved the zinger

So it's only the Kentucky players that take a pay cut when they go pro?

Yes, Larry's listed at 19 and Thunder have 21st pick. Wouldn't it be wild if Larry was selected by O.K.C.!

i really hope larry doesn't wind up drafted by OKC.

i'd rather the VCU brand be spread to another team and yet another city.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be wild but I'm not so sure Larry would be the guy OKC wants going forward. They have a very similar body/defensive oriented/shotblocker in Ibaka. I think OKC would do well to draft a bigger inside body if they can get one. They seem to lack a really strong inside presence. Collison is a tough banger but I just don't think they gain much more by taking Larry that they don't already have in Ibaka. Ibaka is currently the third best shotblocker this postseason.

Sanders looked the part of lottery pick on his first day in the gym, so it will be interesting to see how much Sanders improves in three weeks after two-a-day training sessions at IMG.

There is no doubt Larry Sanders is a top 20 selection today, the question is can he go into individual workouts and impress teams enough to move into the lottery pick discussion.

In this article Steve Kyler is a top 20 pick right now with a chance to go in the lottery. We won't know for sure til David Stern calls his name in New York City, but he's turning plenty of heads right now.

"Larry Sanders is a freak athlete. He is long, he is aggressive, he is tenacious around the basket and he can hold his own in the post against bigger stronger players."

"His body today says he's a 3-4 player at this level, but his outside shooting isn't nearly as consistent for the Small Forward spot, but what Sanders lacks in consistent shooting he makes up for in heart, hustle and explosiveness around the basket."

"What makes Sanders all the more intriguing is that besides having a very explosive game in the paint, he is an extremely intelligent player and person, and is eager to learn and grow. "

Man, the article contradicts just about every negative thing written on here about Larry over the last six months.

It certainly does. It's just too bad we didn't get much to show for having such a gifted and talented guy this year. No doubt we wish him the best and hope he blows up in the NBA.
