Sanders Moves Up To #9 On CAA Blocks Chart: VCU junior center Larry Sanders has moved up to ninth on the CAA’s career blocked shots list with 203. He needs just five more rejections to pass Drexel’s Robert Battle and VCU’s L.F. Likcholitov for seventh. Sanders tops the CAA with 16 blocks in five games this season.

That is quite an accomplishment for Larry...with basically 2 more seasons to go (should he stay for his senior year), he could challenge for the top spot. Especially if he can stay on the floor. His 203 blocks are even more impressive considering how little he was on the floor his first 2 seasons due to foul trouble.

I'm not so sure I see him taking over the top spot here at vcu...he has a LONG way to go

I agree, this is about the all-time CAA blocks list. Lorenza Watson is not going to be beaten for a while. Of course he predates VCU's CAA years. I haven't seen the CAA list but I imagine the current CAA blocks leader is David Robinson, seeing how he averaged something like 5.5 blocks per game one year, Larry probably won't touch that record, but he has a real shot at being top 5 all time in the CAA, which is a great accomplishment.

Heck, Larry already broke Robinson's CAA tournament rebounding record and tied his block record with his 18 point, 20 rebound, 7 block performance against George Mason in the CAA final last season. Who knows? ;)

i didn't realize that was pre CAA days...but your right in terms of the CAA he could definitely be in the top 5, seeing as how he is staying at vcu for 4 years ;) ;) :D

I disagree, he started the season at 187 blocks in two years, getting 95 as a frosh and 92 as a soph. If he stays on that clip then by the end of his senior year ;) he will be at 374. Only 17 shy of Zo's 391. I think it is very resonable to see him becoming the all-time leading shot blocker at VCU!

And, since we're going to back-to-back national championships, he'll have extra games to do it in. 8-)
