Would someone please grab this young man by the collar, look him right in the eye and say: "Larry, forget about the NBA and all the talk about you being ready. You are not ready now and the only way you will be ready later is if you forget all this BS talk and play your a** off everytime you are on the court." Larry ended up with a good statline, but he did not play with any energy until about the last 7 or 8 minutes of the game.

Oh yeah, "and forget about shooting the three pointers."

In the Times Dispatch article, Larry said he's been sick all week and didn't have any energy, but that he was inspired down the stretch by Terrance and that boosted his energy level.

Moreover, Larry has been pretty friggin' good lately. Four double doubles in a row, great defense when not in foul trouble and tons of altered shots/blocks. He seems to get every important rebound. The attention he gets also opens things up for others. Over the last four games, he's averaging 16 and 12. Not too many guys in the country putting up those kinds of numbers. In addition, if he was worried about himself, he could put up a lot more points. I'm glad he's seems to be mostly interested in us winning games.

When I was a kid, when I came home my father always asked if we won. If I said no, he really didn't want to hear the rest/how great I was.

My feelings also. Keep doing what you are doing Larry!

My only gripe....and I guess it is more at the coaches.....is that Larry spends a whole lot of time at the top of the arc setting screens as well as handling passes. When he does that the paint is 100% vacant....I know because I specifically looked for it on several occasions. When that happens the defense knows where the ball is going to go for a shot....on the perimeter. We need to mix it up some as far as who is setting screens.

Plus IMO I think that #1 the majority of his shots should be from the basket to 2-3 feet away - dunk, hook, layup. #2 he can then take the turn around jumper from 5+ feet away. #3 then a 3 pointer (1 time in a game please) every few games.

But the bulk of his points need to come AT the basket.

But I do love his defense...he is a real play changer

I said at the start of the year, that Larry isn't even our best post player, TJ is. Now I am might crucified for this because Larry scores more points, but if you look at the way TJ attacks the basket to create his own shots and for putbacks. He may now be our third best post player with T in. If Larry had the heard that Terrance has, then he'd be a heck of a player. Larry doesn't work hard for the ball and when he gets it does that terrible fade away shot. He's not ready for the NBA because, he's not even the best player on a Mid-Major.

guys slow your roll...he's been sick, this means is has been drained physically. Tough to play with energy when you don't have any. last four games 15.5, 12, 3.3, i'm ok with that

Last night it looked like Terrance was our best post player. They were running clear outs for him and he was waving guards off telling them to makes some space for him. He commanded the ball down low, got it in good position and made something happen everytime he touched it.

c'mon Brad ...that is by design. Larry moving out to the arc takes his big with him and opens up the middle for drives and mid range game.

As much as you hate to see it, Larry's ability to shoot from the arc and put the ball on the floor is a dynamic that causes a shift in the defence that should benefit our offence. Worked great in the second half last night. We shot over 50% ,got to the line and scored 45 points. heck if we would have made a few more front ends we would have scored 50 and won going away

:? Hate to see what would happen if he didn't put up a double double with 5 blocks? The guy is a stud and will be a very rich young man if he continues playing the way he is. Every team we face game plans for him and every player on the team benefits from his precense on the court. He's never been a back to the basket back you down kind of player and that isn't going to change.....he isn't Troy Godwin.

First year watching basketball is exciting isnt it ;)

Stop the madness. When other guys get double and triple teamed and lead us in scoring, rebounding and put up double doubles like it's routine, then we can start questioning who our best post player is. I love TJ, but do you really think we'd get away with having a 6'4" power forward on a regular basis if the other team wasn't so concerned with Larry?
