Larry just looked flat all night, literally and figuratively. He didn't attempt to block shots in the lane at all. His free throws and jump shots had no arc. He looked frustrated when he was out front on the break and couldn't get the easy, cherry pick-type baskets. Bad game overall. Hope he finds his mojo by Saturday.

I'm glad we were able to cover for Larry's poor performance. I hope the jersey he had prior to the game has nothing to do with him leaving.

In an odd way I like that Larry had an off night heading into the ODU game. I just don't see back to back off nights from Larry. Too talented.

That said, we're gonna need a lot more than just Larry if we wanna get out of Norfolk with a W.

I'll also say this...Bowles is a heck of a player. If he isn't first team all CAA I really don't know who is. Brady will have them back next year once they get healthy and a little more experienced.

After seeing Bowles in person last night and watching him on TV, there is no doubt in my mind that he is the best player in the CAA. He may be lacking on defense, but he scores at will on offense. I will also say after watching Larry go up against Bowles for two games, Larry is no where near ready for the NBA. Bowles is typical of what Larry will face in the NBA - 6'10" and 255 lbs. Larry was no match for him.

When Larry gets to the NBA, he's going to be able to be much more aggressive. Limited minutes, 6 fouls and the officials let them play, there won't be any concerns about fouling out. It's obvious that much of the time he's playing to stay out of foul trouble. He has to because we rely on him so much.

He also won't have a rep of being a foul machine to the refs

VV from ODU didn't really get over his fouling issues until his senior year

We didn't seem to need him last night! We had four guys under 6-7 lead the team in scoring. One under 6-0.
HHHmmmm...do we need Larry or does Larry need us????? :?: :ugeek:

I don't care if he goes to the NBA or not, but he does need to get his money back for that $3 haircut.

I was thinking the same thing. He should come back his senior year and grow out the fro.

We definitely need Larry.

We were having trouble getting rebounds when we started the second half with him on the bench. When he came back in, the trouble stopped. Leave him on the bench against a top team and we're in big trouble.

Larry tried to be aggressive with Bowles but he couldn't stop him. KP did a pretty good job of defending Bowles while he was in there but then KP's offense was lacking.

It's just odd to me to see the difference between the home and away games vs JMU. Kirill played all of 40 seconds at H'burg and what seemed like 20 minutes here, he did play very effectively vs. Bowles (The kid is gonna get his points, i said he would score 28 before the game started). Just a thought though.
