True enough...it's just ridiculous to think about that's all. We've been lucky in a couple of wins for sure.

If it were easy, we would be 11-0. No need to worry about what we could be because there is no shame in what we are. We have earned a very solid 9-2 record. No team has dominated us for 40 min though, we did play very well for extended periods in our 2 losses. Those 2 losses were in our brief BSS period (Before Skeen and Saitil). We are a different team now, who can not only dominate by our speed and guard play, but can throw lots of capable big bodies at you down low. Not to say there is no way we can blow a lead or two, and drop a game here and there, but I would bet both of those L's would have been "W's" if our roster was at full strength.
I like our chances in conference play.

We could easily be 10-1. Our WMU peformance was so pathetic I can't say we could have won that game without shock therapy. Should have won, yes.
We could also just as easily be 8-4. URI and Tulane could have been L's.
The team is maturing. As they take their Defensive Ritalin EVERY game, as well as press/pass aggressively, they will make the NCAA's. If they put Team first, they can make noise in March Madness.
They have the talent and depth. It will come down to their maturity, intensity and work ethic. Nothing that Smart hasn't already told them.

lets just keep winning at home and then winning on the road. I am still a little worried about our road record. I believe we have 8 road games left including GMU, ODU, JMU, NU, Hofstra and others. No easy ones. If we prove to be a good road team this will be one of the best VCU teams ever.

Is that all it takes?
I agree that every road game will be tough. We are going to have to pull those out in order to win the CAA regular season for a 4th straight year. The upcoming game @ Drexel will be a big test.

watching sportscenter late - and mentioned how some conferences are down (pac 10 i think) - Does this increase chances of 2-3 from the CAA?

Likely, but I think the A-10 stands to benefit a bit more from it. As good as the CAA has been, the A-10 has been better.
Dayton, Rhode Island, Richmond, Xavier, and Temple can all make cases for being tournament teams this year. Charlotte and George Washington have gaudy records but probably haven't done enough to be NCAA tournament teams. That's a lot of good teams though.
I think the CAA gets 1 at-large bid, but 2 isn't likely unless we have a perfect scenario where VCU and W&M both dominate and a team like ODU wins the league. We know that's not going to happen though.
