I wanna know the following from all of you...old and young.

1. Favorite band of all time

2. Favorite album of all time

3. Favorite song of all time

4. Best concert you've ever been to

1. The Beatles
2. Abbey Road
3. Can't really decide on one specific song as my favorite...
4. Best concert i've been to has to be Robert Plant about 5 years ago in Va Beach

1)The Avett Brothers....nuff said
2)Too hard to figure out
3)See answer 2
4)The Rolling Stones concert at Scotts Stadium a couple of years ago...not the biggest fan, but it was pretty ridiculous.

Favorite Band....gotta break it up into classic and current
classic-The Who...just beats out Sabbath and Iron Maiden
current Muse...just beats out Wolfmother

Favorite Album...OK Computer (radiohead) or Master of Puppets

Favorite Song....A Quick One While He's Away (The Who)

Best Show....White Zombie/Reverend Horton Heat/The Melvins @ Norfolk in 96?

1. band: The Clash

2. album: Ruby Vroom, Soul Coughing
(could never settle on any one fav. Clash album, and I'm assuming greatest hits/box sets would be cheating)

3. song: honestly, there are WAY too many and it's too fluid to have a definitive one... however the honorary designated figurehead favorite song is Clampdown, by the Clash

4: concert(s): have to break this into 3 categories... traditional concert venue style concert- Lou Reed w/ Mo Tucker at the Mosque ... club show- Red Hot Chili Peppers at Rockitz ... festival style show- Billy Bragg and Annie Defranco at the Winnipeg Folk Fest

BAND - (tie) Frank Sinatra,The Beatles

ALBUM - Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon

SONG - Ben E. King: "Stand By Me"

Concert - Jonathan Richman @ The Gravity Lounge (a year or two ago?)

Some really good answers so far IMO. (Not that there are any "wrong" answers, but you get the drift).

Band: Nirvana
Album: Nevermind (Nirvana). I was 14 when it came out and it completely blew me away. Totally changed how I looked at and felt about music.
Song: This is impossible to narrow to just one, but I could make a list of finalists from some of these:
Thunder Road (Springsteen), Man Who Sold the World (Nirvana cover), Smells Like Teen Spirit, Heart Shaped Box (Nirvana), Thirty-three, Today, 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins), Drive (R.E.M.), Karma Police (Radiohead), Bulls on Parade (Rage Against the Machine), Mrs. Robinson (Simon & Garfunkel), Molly (Sponge), Pride (U2), Baba O'Riley (The Who), The Scientist (Coldplay), Rearview Mirror, Why Go (Pearl Jam), Jesus of Suburbia (Green Day), Hysteria (Muse), All These Things That I've Done (The Killers), American Pie (Don McLean).
Concert: Clutch. Saw these guys at some tiny dump when I was 16. Not a huge fan of the band, but easily the most fun I've ever had at a show.

Band: MMW

Album: Burning Spear, 100th Anniversary

Song: Talking Heads, Naive Melody, AKA- This must be the place

Concert: Jazz is Dead, Norfolk VA @ the Boathouse 98'

:D

1. Lowell Fulson and whoever was lucky enough to sit in on any of his sessions.

2."Let it Bleed" Rolling Stones.

3. J.S. Bach unaccompanied cello suite no.1 in G Major.

4. tie, Jimi Hendrix at the Mosque, July, 1968 or Steel Mill with Springsteen on top of the Marshall St. Parking Deck, summer of 1970.

OLD SCHOOL

If I had to only pick one for each:

Band: Red Hot Chili Peppers
Album: Chant Down Babylon (Bob Marley and Various Artists)
Song: Thieves in the Night (Blackstar)
Concert: Fighting Gravity at Alley Katz in 98 or 99
