Just wait another couple of months. I am sure Larry Sanders, The Hammer, Skeen when eligable, TJ "most underrated player int he CAA" Gwynn, Big TS and "The Sleeper" David Hinton will be happy to do the splainin.

i'd take our frontcourt over mason's right now. our guys are bigger, stronger, older/more experienced, and have accomplished more to date.

but hey, we shall see. that's why they play the games.

Since when did having a good frontcourt mean anything in the CAA? The CAA is a guard league. We have a lot of question marks in that backcourt. You might take VCU's frontcourt over Mason's, but anybody in the league would take Mason's backcourt over ours in a heartbeat. That is why we are at the spot we are in. Litos is a Ram fan, but a homer he is not. When you lose a player of Eric's caliber, there is gonna be a dropoff in backcourt play. That is crucial in such a league as the one we are in. ODU has had far stronger frontcourts than anyone in CAA play for a long time (with only Northeastern possibly having an argument there), but they haven't really won anything except in 05 when they had Isaiah Hunter and Drew Williamson, who were pretty darn good. Why? Guard play. We need our young guys to step up, and we need Joey to play with the chip on his shoulder that we know he has. Alas, preseason prognosticators can't know how our backcourt will fare, and frankly, we can't either. I have no problem with a 3rd place preseason ranking...

As long as we're number one at the end. 8-)

never said it did.

never said i wouldn't.

Litos is a Ram fan, but a homer he is not.

never said i expected him to be.

Alas, preseason prognosticators can't know how our backcourt will fare, and frankly, we can't either.

never said they could.

i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure this discussion was only about frontcourts and not teams as a whole. i could be wrong though. ;)

SOCK IN MOUTH. Disregard all I said.

I thought that was a preseason CAA ranking. Morrison is a young budding player who will be a star in this league. They also have Ryan Pearson who is pretty darn good too and has a Will Thomas like feel to his game. I can see why they might be picked ahead of us given Larry still hasn't shown that he can stay out of foul trouble (though he got better as the season progressed) and it gets pretty thin from there. Skeen is an X factor obviously, but no one can know how transfers will pan out, and Litos had to take that into account. If we look at what GMU had returning and what VCU has returning (transfers and freshmen aside), I can see how Litos might opt for GMU over VCU. Larry is an absolute monster that can abuse anyone on GMU's frontcourt, but he hasn't shown that he can stay on the court long enough to carry that out. ODU top to bottom is hands-down a better frontcourt overall and I have no argument there.
