fixed.

Not seeing the similarities between the two.

Burgess reminds me a bit of Greivis Vasquez - minus the whole "taunt the crowd instead of getting back on defense" thing. Big, athletic, and can operate just about anywhere on the floor. Hopefully he won't have to carry the rest of the team on his back like Vasquez has had to the past couple seasons.

Maybe it's just the fact that he's a big guard with a diverse skill set.

Wasn't it Vasquez, who after we beat them a couple years ago, said something like we shouldn't have lost to them, "we aint no mid-major". What a punk.

About next year, I think that we'll be decent with or without Larry. The real question is how the sophmores and recruits will develop and contribute. This will be telling in how much, if any, of a drop-off we may experience in 2011-12.

Okay, so we know that Theus will be key player next year. What about the other sophmores?

Daniels can really catch and shoot it, but is this all? I'm sure that he will improve defensively. However, I don't think that we've seen enough of him to know if he can dribble drive/shoot and is a good passer.

Grayson has shown some promise in the little time that he's played. Perhaps his size may be holding him back a bit, particularly on the defensive end. If they still like him to be a contributor down the road, I'd hate to see him waste another year of eligibility behind both Joey and Theus. Could a redshirt year be a possibility?

All of incoming new players seem to be good fits. It sounds like we may expect Veal and McCarter to have meaningful roles...and perhaps Haley too, if Larry leaves. Brandenburg sounds talented. However, his stats seem quite modest. That being said, I think that Joey came out of high school scoring less, and we see how good that has worked out for us.

Collectively, this group of sophmores and newcomers represents the future. Based on how we've overhyped players and been let down before, I'm going to try to not expect major contributions from any of them next year. I can't wait to see how they will do though.
