Manute Bol died at UVA hospital of Stevens Johnson Syndrome at 47. (Not VCU basketball but may be of interest to the basketball community here.)

Big nute, did the best he could. Literally giving away his fortune for his county men. Also, back in the day big nute dated a young women from VCU. (See there was a connection)

RIP, Manute a true humanitarian and credit to his country. Sad that he died so young.
 
He surely appreciated every chance he was given and helped so many others throughout his life, building schools for those in his homeland of Sudan. He had a lot of humility and a great sense of humor. A few years ago he attempted to play minor league hockey to raise money for his people. http://espn.go.com/minorlh/news/2002/1112/1460103.html
