Well, we know ODU is in NCAA, and now apparently GMU is hosting a CIT game. I would imagine WM and NU would be NIT, are we joining them? Or Mason? Or neither?

There are numerous dates on the siegel center calendar designated as hold days for the NIT.

Would be awesome if we got a home game out of the deal

our fate may still be a bit up in the air, depending on how various mid-major and low-major tournaments go, and whether their regular season champs also win that conference's NCAA autobid, or if they're upset and therefore take an NIT-autobid off the table ...plus, our seeding may get shuffled around depending on how the big bubble teams break

With a 65 RPI I think a NIT bid for us is better than 50/50, maybe 60/40.

Excluding regular season champs and Washington State (90), in 2009 it seemed the NIT RPI cut off was 80.

What concerns me is that most of the school in our RPI range last year were high majors and ODU at 78 didn't get invited.

If the Mason thing is true, they knew they weren't going to the NIT and was probably proactive in negotiating their way into the CIT.

7 of 11 mid major tourney have ended up with the season champ being the tourney champ. That works in our favor so far. I think we are in the NIT.

What I want is a Home game :)

I was listening to Big Al this morning, and they were talking of either W&M or VCU playing at UNC or Cincy

We are on solid ground regarding being invited to the NIT. We are on the fence, though, regarding hosting a first round game. One projection continues to show VCU as 5 seed while the other projection has moved VCU down to a 4 seed from a 3 seed. I think our chances are getting slimmer each day on hosting a first round game. Northeastern is the team that needs to be worried regarding an invitation to the NIT.

From what I heard on ESPN 950 NE's RPI is in the 70's so it doesn't look for them. On the radio they were debating on if we could get UNC at home. With that said UNC's RPI is in the 80's. How can they make the NIT? With a name like UNC you could.
