Players Max Shulga - NBA Thread

I dont know how we got on a conversation that debates Max ability to make it to the next level. Max athleticism doesnt jump out at you but he is pretty athletic.

The guy is strong, not t graham strong but strong. He has good size and can play point, not E. Maynor. He can shoot, not Troy Daniels but he can shoot. He can defend, not Bri but he can defend. He is as good a guy as we have sent to the league. He will be good in the locker room. I think that is what got Vince his opportunity. His teammates love him. They will love Max.

Max wont start. Nor will he star. However, he does have a shot a pretty good shot. Now he will be a two way or G-league guy. But I see him in the league for a few games. I wouldn’t count him out. The guy is a gamer.

And nothing like two senior posters attempting to gatekeep and virtue signal against facts and a dissenting opinion because I don't drink the cool-aid. If by "earn your stripes" you mean to just blow smoke at anything and everything VCU and black and gold, then that's never going to happen. I've stated before, I try to keep it real on here, something a lot of posters seem to struggle with. Those opinions may not be the popular ones on here, but sometimes truths aren't easy to hear. Nothing I post would warrant any kind of restriction or moderation. I believe there is such a soft spot for guys on our team, especially Max, because they are genuinely good guys especially with Max in particular, because of his home situation and tumult back there. I strictly criticize his talent level, nothing more. Just because one endures hardships (some greater than others) does not guarantee immunity from criticism, especially from a skill-level standpoint in their respective sport. No one is handing out an "I feel really bad for you" roster spot in the NBA. They want the best talent, and they don't care how you got there. That is how I evaluate Max and others, strictly from a talent level standpoint. The difference is, I'm just not afraid to call it how it is.
Were you born in 2016?

Any other VCU players offered invites?

Also, what’s this about Watkins being in the portal. Didn’t he come in with Kern?
He gets a redshirt year due to his leg injury his sophomore year.

Wow. I wonder how playing next year affects his NBA chances. He is getting older.

However, he could get some solid money with NIL.

He really does have decisions to make. 500-750k play in college. 2 way deal in NBA but you get started.

The PIT is just beginning to release their invitations. The first one was Ace and then they followed it with the Max Shulga invitation.

Age is definitely becoming a factor. Many of the Mock Drafts i have seen put him in the mid 2nd round. If he were my client, I'd advise him to stay in process and forego the last college year

Have a couple of really good sources outside of VCU. If he stays in college he will be one of the most coveted players in the portal and will get close to or over $2m.
