Is it me or does Rondo's game remind you of Maynor during his tenure at VCU. If you have read any of my posts I am certainly not on the E Maynor is the greatest Ram bandwagon and certainly not saying E Maynor will be as good as Rondo but the games look very similar.

The only resemblance I can see is that both can work on their outside game and don't have that as their strengths. Maynor was able to get his shot off a lot easier at the college level and was a better 3-point shooter (obviously with a shorter distance to shoot from). They both depend on driving to the basket and creating for others.

Rondo has more athletic explosiveness, speed, big-play ability, and better rebounding than Eric did at VCU and definitely in the NBA. I'd give Eric the edge in the mid-range and 3-point shooting looking at both his NBA and VCU career, though Rondo is developing a nice elbow jumper now. Eric needs some more experience and time in the weight room, but should get better. He'll never be the point guard Rondo is though.

i see a few similarities between the two. if maynor manages to even come close to the player rondo is, i'd be pretty happy.

i tell ya though, watching rondo is something else. i'm not sure how that guy does it, but he has an uncanny ability to make some of the toughest layups i've ever seen a point guard make. this kid comes at the defense with floaters, lefty, righty, reverse, spinners, and somehow makes big men look foolish time and time again. i had my doubts about him at first, but that guy is a baller.

Always loved Rondo. However, I must admit, I never saw it in Maynor or Jose Juan Berea until the end of their careers.

I agree. I told my friends this a couple of years ago and they all disagreed though.
