The Men's team was picked by the association to finished tied for 7th. I hope this does not come to fruition. Ever since we lost our pitching coach some years back to Richmond, the team continues to regress. Maybe this year they will turn it around. Best of luck on the diamond!

It's awfully hard to recruit when you have a gross facility like The Diamond. That said, Keyes has performed miracles with some of the talent he has been able to land over the last few years.

Here's hoping a new ballpark is right around the corner and a brighter baseball future for the Rams lurks waits there as well!

Keyes (& VCU Baseball) has done more with less than any program that I know of...lack of facilities is going to catch up with VCU. This should be a high priority for the athletic dept. Baseball is a sport that we should ( and have)be competing at the highest level. A trip to Omaha would be fabulous, but it starts with getting first class facilities.

Hard to justify a ton of new funds when you average 50 fans a game

Well heck then lets rid ourselves of the women's basketball, track, field hockey, golf, tennis, volleyball....

Keyes can work magic., plus it doesn't take much to make a run in the league. A new stadium would be great, though, not sure I trust city council to pull it off and it would be hard for the university to build one on its own.

women's basketball and volleyball use the men's basketball facilities... no extra funding required, just equiptment and travel expenses (and coaches pay). Field hockey uses Cary Street Field, so they fall in a similar category. John Rollins is helping fund our golf team tremendously. My point is, most of these programs operate on already existing facilities that get minor upgrades occasionally. To build an entire state-of-the-art field for baseball would be insanity at best. I wish I knew where all of you "we need to build X and Y, we need this and that (i.e. football)" think the $$$ will come from when we operate on one of the lowest (if not THE lowest) athletic budget in the CAA...

side note: we provide more championships per dollar donated than anyone in the CAA!!!
