While we could certainly do it ourselves, I think we need to get a small military contingent between russia, england and the US to develop a cohesive plan, train for 3-4 months together and then go in and wipe the floor with all the pirates to start anew. This is freakin ridiculous....talk about terrorist act.

It's way too indepth for that. Read a few really interesting articles (they were compiled in a book or I'd link to them online) showing the inner-workings of the piracy industry. It's not something that will go away that easily. These aren't roving bands of pirates, these are generally legitimate crew members that defect for a single raid for some extra cash. Additionally, pirate attacks are VASTLY under-reported due to insurance reasons. Some estimates say that less than 1/4th of all successful pirate hijackings are actually reported by the giant conglomerate corporations that own these ships. The rest of them they eat as a cost of doing business.
