MLB 2026

I'm enjoying an off-day today, and the Cards are playing afternoon baseball at Fenway Park. What a classic matchup!
And we've not been too bad so far this year...

Anybody already planning to attend any games this year?

For myself, I've got plans to attend STL at Kansas City in May. It's hard for me to believe that 40 years ago I was pizzed off at the terrible call at first base in the 1985 World Series! (Who am I kidding; I'm STILL pizzed off about that!!!)

And a Pittsburgh Pirates fan/friend of mine and I are heading to STL in late August to see Pirates at the Cards.

Where are y'all going to see a game? Anyone tried doing the "tour every stadium" thing?

I'm usually good for a couple/handful (DC and/or Philly). depending on family summer plans. My oldest is off to JMU this year, so I have no idea if/when we'll get out to a game. I DO wanna hit the Phillies AA/AAA parks in Reading and Lehigh Valley at some point....not too far from me in the ShenVal.

hopefully I'll get to go to at least 1 or 2 games this summer. Money is a little tight for me right now though. No Big trips planned like I've had the past few years.

Eventually I wanna visit every stadium & see every team play live once. Im keeping track of the ones I've been to & the teams I've seen play live.....

So far this is where I'm at-

MLB- I've been to 5 stadiums (Truist, Globe Life, Nats Park, Camden & Fenway) & I've seen 8 teams play live (ATL, SD, WAS, BAL, NYY, BOS, LAA & TEX)

NFL- 3 stadiums (FedEx, Heinz Field & M&T Bank) & 5 teams (WAS, DAL, PHI, PIT, BAL)

NBA- 4 Arenas (Spectrum Center, Ball Arena, Kaseya Center, Capital One Arena) & 7 teams (WAS, MIL, MIA, CHA, DEN, DET, ATL).... I've been to the Wells Fargo Center in Philly but not for a 76ers game..... went to the VCU-UCLA Game in 09 there.

that's awesome! hmmm... I'd have to take some time to think about the stadiums I've visited. Maybe at lunch break today....

Yeah... my goal is to visit every stadium at least once & see every team play at least once in my life. for those 3 sports. I'm in my mid 30's now... so I'm off to an alright start.

2011- Heat-Wizards game in DC (First Heat game, and I remember it vividly because John Wall tried to fight Big Ole Zydrunas Ilgauskas that night)
2013- Went to a Sunday Night Baseball game (Yanks vs Sox) at Fenway- the year Mariano Rivera Retired
2013- Bucks-Wiz in DC (Larry Sanders vs Eric Maynor game..... though Larry was a DNP & Eric Barely Played)
2014- Went to a game at Camden Yards (Yanks vs Orioles).... the year Jeter Retired
2015- Went to a Steelers-Ravens Game in BAL (2 days of christmas when we lost to a freaking back up or 3rd string QB)
2016- Went to a Heat-Hornets playoff game in Charlotte (Briante Weber on the Heat vs Troy Daniels on the Hornets)
July 2021- Went to my first Braves game in ATL at Truist Park.... right after the All Star Break
Nov 2021- I went to a Nuggets game in Denver (Bones got drafted that year)
Aug 2023- Went to Dallas for a concert (band I discovered online during COVID).... went to a Rangers-Angels game hoping to see Trout & Ohtani... but Trout was on IL.
October 2024- Went to a Heat game in MIA (D-Wade's Statue Unveiling.... my fave NBA player that wasn't from VCU)

And those are just the big ones I remember off the top of my head.

Cool.....we're all pretty excited. I'd like to think I'm handling her imminent departure well........but I'm not :lol::lol:
I equate it to when they start driving. At first, you worry... are they going to be OK? did they get to the destination? But after a while, they're good and you start to forget what life was like before they drove. You can quickly get spoiled to not having to be the chauffeur anymore!

Similar with dropping them off at college. At first, you might find yourself worrying that they're OK and what are they doing... but you can pretty quickly get used to them not being around all the time anymore, and then you get to where I'm at now. "What?! You're coming back home this weekend?? Weren't you just here?!" :D:(

PS - I'm a seasoned veteran now; my youngest is graduating Emory & Henry college in four weeks...

OK... I've given it a few minutes, and this is what my mid-50's brain can remember!
  • 1970's-80's
    • Busch Stadium II and KC Royals Stadium, many games too numerous to count
    • The old St. Louis Checkerdome (now defunct), STL Blues and the Ringling Bros Circus!
  • 1990's
    • Veterans Stadium in Philly, Cards vs Phillies when I first moved to Virginia
    • Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Cards vs Pirates when I was dating my wife, meeting the father and brother-in-law
    • RFK Stadium in DC, Redskins vs Lions with @VCU94MCV98 and friends. Barry Sanders vs Darrell Green!
  • 2000's (now an adult, able to travel on my own!)
    • Busch Stadium III, too numerous to count but highlights are the 2004, 2006, 2011, and 2013 World Series!
    • Camden Yards, 2011 Cards vs Orioles
    • Nationals Park, many Cardinals vs Nats games
    • PNC Park, many Cardinals vs Pirates games
    • Truist Park, 2019 Cardinals vs Braves playoffs games 1 and 2
    • Wrigley Field, Cubs vs Cardinals when COVID-19 "ended"
    • Fed Ex Field, U2 Joshua Tree tour in 2015
    • Capital One Center, U2 I+E tour (and VCU A10 Tourneys)
    • PPG Paints Arena, VCU A10 tourney
    • Lenovo Center, Carolina Hurricanes vs St Louis Blues
There may be a few more that I can't remember.
And there's a few that I've driven past, but didn't actually attend an event (San Francisco, Seattle, Boston Fenway Park come to mind)
This has been fun; hope some of the others share too!

yeah I've been to several Braves-Nats games in DC, as well as Steelers-Ravens games in both Pittsburgh & Baltimore.... but couldn't remember all the dates to em all lol.... And I didn't include the arenas like Wells fargo center in Philly, Capital 1 Arena in DC or PPG in Pittsburgh for the A10 Tourneys or NCAA Tourney..... tho I did go to a Flyers-Devils game in Philly, the year we played Temple in Philly a couple years ago.... my First NHL game.

Also been to DC United games at both Audi Field & RFK.

And went to several Washington Football games at Fed Ex through school when they did roadtrips... one was against Philly & one was against Dallas.... but don't remember the years.

Nice home stand for the Mets. Take 4 from the Cards followed up by a 3 game sweep of the Phil's. Not bad! @Beirne @Half-baked Mcbride I figured you guys enjoyed it as much as I did
