My nurse here at the office is actually a Mets fan too. Before that series I was really excited, told her how it was going to be fun... we were doing better than I'd thought we would...
Then reality bit!
 
This has been a rough April for Phillies fans...on one side? We're still around .500...there were years I would've KILLED for those results

on the other side?? This is a WIN NOW team and the energy/vibes/results are troubling, mediocre, and uninspired...
 
Time to blow the dust off the thread. I can't believe Spring Training is ending and the regular season starts this Wednesday-Thursday!
My Cards may be in a rebuilding year, but I was pleasantly surprised this morning to read on Redbird Rants that there is at least one other hope-springs-eternal like-minded individual out there with me!

Bold prediction #5: The Cardinals make the playoffs!​

This is bold enough by itself.

The Cardinals, according to most prediction outlets, are projected to win only 72 games this year. They have less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs. Making the playoffs in 2026 with as inexperienced of a roster as they have would be an excellent kick-off to the rebuild.

It'll probably take 86 wins to make it into the postseason picture, and it would have to be via a Wild Card berth. The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs will be tough competition as always, and the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates will be formidable opponents. However, if luck falls the Cardinals' way, they could sneak their way into the postseason.

SO EXCITED for this season

Phillies are looking great...especially with the contract extensions of Sanchez/Luzardo AND we actually have a +RF in Adolis Garcia AND our Core offense is back AND our Bullpen is loaded AND we're embracing youth with Crawford (CF) and Painter (SP) AND Zach WHeeler is WAY ahead of rehab schedule!!!!

I thought of you when PMJr was giving one of his postgame interviews, and a Philly beat writer asked him a question. I think it was the A10 Tourney postgame after St. Joe's. PMJr started out by saying "Phillies in 5!"

Agreed! Since we traded fan-favorite Brendan Donovan to the Seattle Mariners, and since I've been to Seattle a couple of times and thought it was a beautiful place, I think this year I'm going to keep my eye on them as my "Second City," junior circuit team!
