Mo Alie-Cox - NFL thread

It's becoming increasingly uncommon for players who play tough, physically-demanding positions to have long careers in the NFL. Mo's about to begin his NINTH season, with only a few minor injuries here and there. That's a testament to just how well conditioned he is.

He's tied with Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith as the longest tenured players on the roster.
I think Mo signed in April 2017, Colts drafted Nelson and Smith in 2018

Though I guess Mo could be considered less tenured since Nelson and Smith started games before Mo finally did in 2018... but technically Mo's been with the org the longest now.

I think it means that you are getting older. In the NFL I guess he is.
Pretty much. 9 years is a long time in the NFL, you don't see very many long-term contracts being signed at that point, especially with TEs or other highly physical positions. I'd expect most of Mo's future deals to be this way until he retires.

That is a cut from last year, but not bad for a 9th year TE. From reading the Indy press before last season, I think the Colts like Mo in the TE Locker room for his leadership. They have a lot of young guys and his experience seem to be an asset. They are likely going after a TE in the draft. I would not be surprised if he does not end up as a coach at some point.
