Hello Gentlemen,

I was at the game and did not hear what Mooney did to get the T. I am to lazy to go through the in-game thread. Does anybody know what he did? i think he was just mouthing off to the refs but not sure.

the answer isn't in the in-game thread... it wasn't really clear from the game feed what exactly he did to get the T, but the impression that Mike and Robby gave was that it was for mouthing off... they said that they had been hearing him complain all the way from the media table across the court

Wouldn't it be great if there was a transcript that gave us exactly what he said???

As I recall, his team had the ball when he got the technical. We made the free throws and got possession of the ball. Big coaching mistake.

Not in all cases. We had really come back and were overtaking and dominating at that point I believe. Sometimes the technical is warranted to 1) get the refs to strongly consider your point; 2) get your team really pissed on and to fight back.

we need VCURAMNATION.com to mic the coaches up, like they do in the nfl or nba, thats the next big step, if they cant do t-shirts atleast do this for me

Anthony was excellent at getting effective and efficient T's. He was also good at getting very poor timed T's. Shaka's total-0
He was so close at Hampton, I thought he was gonna jump out of the building.

I have to go with it being a big coaching mistake. It is one thing to draw the T to try to "fire up" your players, however there is a better time to do that, mainly when the opponent has the ball b/c at that point the opponent just nets 2 shots whereas in this situation we got 2 shots and a change of possesion, thats a potential 8 point technical! I don't care if it has the effect on your team you want or not, you can't risk a 8 point swing (of course this assumes they would of made a 3 on that posession and then we make our 2 ft and a 3 ourselves). all this aside f u.r.

It worked for Nevada last year. I did not work for Richmond last night.

I wasn't at the Hampton game, but TTL PKG and I realized at the W&M game that Shaka has got a 41" vertical!

I don't see Shaka working the refs too hard during the games. I don't know whether he is just showing them respect as a first year coach, playing the nice guy figuring they'll reward him later for it, or just figures bitching about it won't make a difference one way or another? Grant was definately better at more visually and audibly driving his points at the refs.

I saw the T clearly on Ram Replay. Ed had just "carried" the ball on a move to the basket directly in front of Mooney, who had been complaining the refs about it earlier. Ed scored with no call and Mooney went ballistic. I watched it in slow-mo and Ed did carry it. Mooney did have a beef.

watch it again it was called when Anderson was called for the travel and Mooney wanted the foul

Mooney got it for being a whinny nancy...which he has always been...of course I only see him against VCU and he loses that game every year
