I've started up a blog (nothing too special) about VCU recruiting and will put up my write-ups from on here as well as pertinent video clips and updates on our recruiting as they become available. That way other CAA fans who don't come on here can keep up with who we're bringing in as well. This is definitely not going to be competition to VCURamNation as I will be posting my stuff on the Nation first. I have the recruiting highlight video, pics of spring signing day, my write up on the 'Fab Five' with video highlights on each of the players, and a short blog on 2011 commit Kasey Wilson.

I also have a poll up 'Who do you think will have the most immediate impact of the 2010 freshmen?'. Go ahead and vote and let me know what you think!

GO RAMS!

The fans are showing the North Carolina boys the love! Reco with 7 votes, Juvonte with 5, and DJ and Rob with 1 a piece. Thanks for voting!

DB, thanks for doing this blogsite, it is wonderful and extremely inciteful. Well done my man.

No problem, it was my pleasure to do it! :)

As for an update on what you guys think: 39 people have voted and Juvonte and Reco are still dominating the polls with Reddic slightly ahead with 19 votes (48%), Reco a close 2nd with 17 votes (43%), with DJ getting 2 votes and Rob getting 1.

I can see why people aren't choosing Rob since he's gonna be playing behind a lot of experienced 2 guards in Ed Nixon, Brandon Rozzell, and Troy Daniels. I think we're sleeping on DJ a little bit though. It's great to hear so much input! Feel free to follow the blog as well if you feel so inclined. I'll update it when new information becomes available.

It really is quite a recruiting class. A lot to be excited about.

sssssshhhh....don't tell anyone....many on the CAAZone have us finishing much worse than 5th next year...you know we lost our best player who was overrated anyway but it will kill us anyway type thingy...LOL

I think the best thing the CAA can do for us is to have the coaches pick us to finish 5th or worse in the conference. It would light one heck of a fire under this team and potentially launch us towards a great season (like many of us expect here) because that would be pretty disrespectful.

Like how W&M was picked to finish dead last this past season.

We can go under the radar all year. I'd actually rather have that then the pressure of being the preseason favorites.

Well done blog!

I have to say that I am amazed that DJ Haley is not gett'n more love in the poll. Let's face it, every D1 recruit looks like a man among boys in high school but the pure athleticism doesn't necessarily always translate into success at the next level. Haley has an intangible rarely found in the CAA -- he's 7'0 feet tall. He also seems very mature and academically prepared for college - - not that the others aren't, but from the reports it seems very apparent that this is a strength for Haley. So, he's got physical intangibles, he's mature and we have no one else like him on the squad - - that sounds like a recipe for freshman success to me. While he doesn't seem as physically freakish as Sanders he's already heavier as a freshman and his overall length can't be much behind Larry. I think Haley gets PT this year and he ends up being a 5.5 pp, 5 rpg and 2 bpg game guy. He should alter a lot of shots if he just stands in the lane and puts his hands up. Here's hoping the guy is still growing too. Wouldn't it be awesome to be talking about our 7'2" center in a couple of years?

DB ---Great blog. I've already saved it as a favorite next to RamNation.

you know around this time last year Scout set-up a page of VCU recruits. I wonder if we could set up a page of 2011 recruits. I know there are several threads that list guys we are interested in but it would be cool to have one spot to view them all.

The one recruit that peeks my interest in Travion Leonard, hope I spelled that correctly. He is massive, like 6'9" 275lbs. How would he fit into our fun and gun offense and wreak havoc D.

Geez DB, med school is time consuming for most people. How many hours a night do you sleep?
