1.4M for 10 years! Wow, that was an absolute steal! If we wait, we should be able to get a much better deal next year.
 
Yeah, who knows what is out there now, so this might not be the best time to sign another long term agreement, but long term we should be able to do better than $140,000 per year. That would be almost enough to pay Coach Smart's current salary.
 
With the economy in the shape it is, it's going to be more difficult to get big bucks from companies that are being watched by their stockholders.

I'm assuming if verizon expressed interest in retaining the rights then we wouldn't have seen an article in the RTD mention we're seeking a new partner.

Well, that article might just a negotiating ploy.

I know for sure they had a someone interested a few weeks back. Whoever they get, I'll bet they get more than $140K/yr.
