With all of the success we've been having in the NCAA I'm wondering if anyone knows or hear any talk about scouts checking any of our players out.

None of our guys were 1st team all CAA. That's not exactly NBA material.

well it's not like the last few games haven't been well publicized, televised, and attended... and involved multiple games with big name players... so at the very least our guys are getting seen, even if it is the scouting equivalent of second hand smoke

So if no one doesn't make 1st team whatever conference the team is you won't get any looks?

A deep NCAA run doesn't necessarily translate to NBA interest, but I definitely think some of our guys have pro potential. I would honestly be surprised to not see someone as versatile as Skeen not get picked up. He would be a project, not someone you could just drop onto the court right out of school, but so was Sanders. The CAA was stacked with great players this year and I don't think all-team CAA has much sway over NBA recruiters.

No matter what level, high school, college or pros, to the winners go the spoils. Mason and ODU had great years, therefore they filled up the all conference voting ballots.

I think Brad has a legit chance to play at the next level. Its somewhats a double edged sword with his versatility. We have the luxury of playing him at the 3 and the 4 when we go small, but his size and jumpper is definitely NBA level for a 2.

ESPN now has both Skeen and Burgess listed as potential 2nd round draft picks. It makes no sense for Skeen not to at least get some looks just because of his versatility he is solid inside and out and it's not like he's overachieving, he was supposed to be this good. It seems like he could be a bargain even if he goes undrafted.

Burgess still has another year left but is so versatile and doesn't make mistakes. We play him at the 3 and 4 but it's not like he benefits from it. It seems like he'd be so much better individually as a 2 but the team makeup needs him where he is. He shoots wonderfully and is very strong and has the size. Not to mention he is a phenomenal rebounder and that tends to translate to the next level.

They may not get drafted but I bet they get seriously looked at.

Skeen: Mar 18 Update: Skeen is having a terrific tournament and is proving that he may have a place in the NBA. He doesn't have athleticism or youth going for him, but he can score in a variety of ways and plays with great energy. A possible second round pick.

Burgess: Mar 25 Update: Burgess wasn't really on NBA scouts radars before the tournament, but he is now. He doesn't wow you in any one particular way, but Burgess has shown he's one of the most complete guards in the country. If he was more aggressive hunting for his shot, he'd be even higher on our Board. A potential second round pick.

I think Skeen was the MVP for our region, and if Burgess really has a stand out year next year I can see him going to the NBA.

with Bradford being our obvious go to guy next year I think he can have a really strong season. Does that translate into NBA, I certainly hope so but we'll see.
