Virginia Commonwealth
Two CAA teams? Absolutely. While CAA foe ODU thrives on defense, the Rams do it with offense. Only 25 teams sported a more efficient offense in 2009-10. They hit 36.6 percent of their 3-pointers, 50.9 of their 2s, take care of the ball and get to the offensive glass.

It all starts with senior guards Joey Rodriguez and Brandon Rozell, who can hit from outside and occasionally play some nice defense, too. VCU will miss center Larry Sanders, who cleaned up defensive miscues with his blocks, but this isn't a team who overly relies on one player. That makes them a tough out in March.

ODU and Wofford are also listed on this list.

niiice -- lets just hope our offense plays like they are saying not like how we did against VUU

Kinda strange since our signature is a havoc defense.

True, but being able to create turnovers leads to easy buckets. We are a full court pressure team rather than ODU which excels at half court D and poor shooting.

The sad thing is we could be in the top 10 on this list and never sniff the dance. Two teams from the CAA this year? I don't see it, but I think what they are saying is that whichever team wins the CAA can do some damage...most likely candidates are VCU and ODU.

Every year people say there will be two or more teams from the caa and it doesn't happen very often. I guess its nice at least that people respect the top teams of our conference though.

Usually the team that ends up winning the tourney and getting the auto bid would have had a case for an at large. So if they lose and someone else gets the auto bid then we could have two teams make the tourney more often than not, but that isn't being a true two bid league though. This year could be the year though, you never know.

There are four teams with a legitimate shot at the dance right now, in preseason; VCU, Mason, JMU and ODU and I pick them in that order. As we all know, the key to multiple bid is what we do OOC. VCU has a great shot at early cache' by reaching MSG for the semifinals of the Preseason NIT. Win it all and our season is launched.

Friday JMU opens at #3 Kansas St. on Friday, ODU has #12 Georgetown at home, UNCW at #9 Florida. Next week Hofstra plays at #8 UNC CAA could make some noise early.

Come to think of it, as I look at the other teams in the CAAs schedules, i see a lot of ranked opponents, as for us no games against rank opponents yet.

The conference needs to win their OOC games. We did horrible as a conference in the bracket busters last year. The conference can get two bids if we get some support from the rest of the conference (well and ourselves).

We can deserve to be a two bid conference and I think that people are ready to recognize us if the conference deserves it this year.

That means that VCU fans must support very CAA team when playing OOC. That includes ODU!

Never have rooted for ODU and I don't plan on starting now

at the end of the day who I root for doesn't affect the outcome of the game so FODU

Re: NBCSports: Best Bets to Be This Season's Version of Butl

I wont go out of my way to cheer for them, but I've always supported ODU OOC. Once again, my little brother analogy stands true, I've got no problem when my family takes them down, but someone else's family? No way.

The annoying, snotty rich kid from down the street however. . .

Is the Colonial deep enough to be a two or three bid league?

Eamonn Brennan (2:48 PM)

Three? Probably not. Two? Sure. VCU and ODU both have chances to beat top teams in their non-conference schedule. (ODU gets Georgetown at home to open the season; huge game.) Provided neither slips up against a pretty tough group of conference foes, one could get an automatic bid and the other an at-large.

Re: NBCSports: Best Bets to Be This Season's Version of Butl

odu can lose all OOC games for all i care.
