Gregg Marshall staying at Wichita State. Contract extension through 2013-14.

Good for them! Some of the coaching moves and non moves have been a pleasant surprise. Many of the mids held serve and very few BCS schools seem to have upgraded. The majority just recycled other flawed BCS coaches.

how is the Gottfried hire being receieved in Wolfpackistan? is it as lovingly embraced as the Haith hire has been by Mizzou nation?

(at home I can use twitter like a police scanner for this kind of thing, but the work-net blocks it)

Haha about what you would probably expect, pretty bad.

Fresno state to hire Rodney Terry (Texas Assistant) as their new head coach.

BYU and head coach David Rose sign a 5 year extension through 2015-16

Not a bad article....no one can argue that Selby came from an awful background. Also, I don't think you'd have a compelling case in arguing his "academic" record in Lawrence...I think it's doubtful that Mr. Forde actually believes that Selby finished his coursework ahead of schedule (and yet that little nugget made the article)
He had me until the end....if he had just ended with the baseball analogy regarding a true NBA developmental league instead of THIS.....

Spare the schools from enabling a sham that makes a mockery of education. Spare the franchises from babysitting unprepared and/or immature teenagers. And spare the fans from being force-fed the big lie.

.....Spare the schools from enabling the sham??? Wahtever...the Power 6 schools would cream their jeans to have these.....ahem.......student/athletes under their umbrella for at least 3 years.

anyway....back on thread topic....It'll be interesting to see who ends up in Fairfax. Doesn't sound like there is a huge basketball braintrust up in their athletic department

Re:Penn State coaching opening from Philly.com....writer suggests Bruiser

So here's the answer: Hire Bruiser Flint. I thought Flint was the right guy last time - and still do. He'll get players from Philly and New York, and he'll make them better. My bet is this won't happen since Bruiser hasn't gotten Drexel to the tournament - which seems to be the prerequisite for moving up - but he's perfect for this job. Sure, Penn State can go after a hot coach, but Virginia Commonwealth's Shaka Smart is too hot, for instance, to settle for Penn State.
