New Mascot for W&M

For today's Virginian Pilot, W&M is in the search for a new mascot. The school has an open, any idea goes concept, including the Asparagus. Makes you wonder what they are "eating" on campus these days.

being as they are named for a king and a queen, obviously they should be named the Monarchs... I can't think of any other notable teams using it already

I would suggest "the Scribes." Close to the old nickname and a perfect fit for all the institution's history. I can picture the mascot as wearing green and gold colonial garb with a big feather quill in his hand. No, not even W&M would have something so hideous to represent them.

ive suggested alakazam. hes a smart (like W&M kids) but powerful (what is needed in a mascot) figure, and is capable of destroying opponents with a single psychic attack, just as King William III did to his foes.
