Two things...

1) What's our OOC looking like next year?

and 2) How do we win on Monday night next March?

Mason and Drexel are gonna be darn tough, ODU like us, loses a ton. We've got some season left, most likely in the NIT, but I think we're at least allowed to start this discussion now.

Not looking forward to next season. Going to be a rebuilding year and frankly I don't think this fan base can deal with a rebuilding season.

Spoiled!

Hopefully we will be smart enough to realize in advance it was a rebuilding year. The panic that struck the end of this season was crazy, but it was at least based in (largely) realistic expectations. Losing as much as we are I hope people are wise about what to expect for next year. And while I'm pleased with the growth our young players have made, I haven't seen anything that would necessarily make me think we'll be worldbeaters in a year.

Perspective and rationality are key. Yes, two things that don't often appear when being a sports fan.

Seems we weren't smart enough to realize a team loses something when two NBA players and a coach depart the program in the span of a calendar year. :?

We'll find out next year just really how many true fans we have. We will be very athletic, more so than this year but also also very young with Darius, Troy, David, Toby and Brad as the only upper-classmen. Brad being the only one this year that has seen real significant minutes. We relied a lot on our seniors for offense this season so the coaches will have to get together during the offseason to figure out where the offense will come from.

Eh, there was still enough of what we were used to that expecting to do well, especially with a lot of our talent being seniors, wasn't too out of the realm of possibility. If we can come even close to what we did this year I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm just impressed we got this many posts in and nobody has yet mentioned the Mayan Apocalypse... oh, wait, I just did :|

damnit

well... I guess it is season AFTER next anyway

We'll most likely be down...but I wouldn't be surprised if we're a lot better than people expect.

It's gonna come down to 2 players: Juvonte and Darius.

I don't think we'll see a post game like Skeen's for a good while, but I think Juvonte has some potential on the offensive end, and I'm begging Skeen to teach him some of those moves.

Replacing Joey's leadership is going to be next to impossible, BUT, Darius gives us a good sized point guard who can do things Joey's size limits. Darius has shown the ability to get to the basket and score. Just gotta get his confidence up enough to take some more difficult shots so I can call him "Darius Threeus" again.

Love Rob's potential and was super impressed with DJ all tournament, seemed to grow up as a player over these past three games. It will be interesting seeing Brad as the undisputed "go-to" guy, but we all know he's capable of putting up huge numbers.

Reco is such a wild card. Stood next to him at the tournament and that is one large guard. Troy will pull a Shuler and break out big time (no doubt in my mind).

Looking forward to our postseason fate, but also ready for next November.

Art, your mind is warped.

Let me be the first to say it. We will not lose to Old Dominion next year.

Hope your right.

Didn't realize Bazemore returns. That's a bummer. Wouldn't mind seeing him graduate early.

F'em, after this season is officially over the biggest thing I have to look forward to is next season. Plus you never know when a rebuilding year turns into a championship year.

Others have posted the scheduled opponents but here is what I remember.

Charleston Classic, vsUR, vsUAB, vsSouth Florida, @Alabama, vsAkron, Bracketbuster, and possibly WSU at home if we schedule the return game for next year and not the year after.

The schedule looks pretty darn good so far and depending how well we do in the tourney and our RPI come Brackbuster time it can get even better. Winning those games will be the difficult part although we have a lot of the hard ones at home as opposed to this season when they were on the road.
