Watched the a lot NFL draft Last night. Big topic last few weeks right up thru this morning has been "Tebow"
Can He Play Can he Not?
The explosion of talk about him on yahoo front page, espn radio / TV etc... about him going 1st round over other QB's.

MY QUESTION: Does a team like Denver pick this guy up because they obviously are willing to take a chance on his ability, BUT also bottom line, he is a marketing bonus......

I don't think any other #25 pick has gotten more publicity. Do the Broncos look at this as a win win - If he doesn't pan out on the field they at least made money and publicity off of his name. ie... Brady Quinn's Jersey was the 7th most selling in the NFL his rookie season and he didn't even play!
 
Maybe, but I'm under the impression you didn't need to pay 1st round money for him. You probably could have still gotten him 2nd, and maybe 3rd, round.

Then that gamble is even more profitable.
 
the guy and his team won 2 national titles, he won the Heisman, his won loss record is probably ridiculous (too lazy..etc).. these teams test and interview every plyer to death....the knock on him is he wears his religion on his sleeve...it matters not to me but I think it is a lightning rod for the media. Denver knew what they are getting

No, the knock on him is that he's not a pro QB.
 
none of them are until they succeed.
As far as Tebow, saw some clips on his workouts discussing his delivery mechanics and how poor they were and how they were working on it...surpised they didnt do that at UF.
Denver wants him for role model? CAn that even work in the NFL anymore?lol
 
I will be flabbergasted if Tebow does not become at least a competent NFL quarterback. His delivery may be off, but two other guys with strange deliveries come to mind, Jurgenson and Elway, you may of heard of them?

Tebow has all the intangibles, great work ethic, natural leadership abilities and a winning mindset. Anyone want to bet against that?

I think the Broncos knew what they were doing and got their guy. As to getting him cheaper, well maybe.
