Norfolk's Bid to host the Women's Tournament

ODU and the City of Norfolk are bidding on the women's tournament. Additionally, there is mention of trying to get the men's tournament at the Scope. Should that happen, it will still be fun watching the Rams play for the championship, while the home team sits at home.

If Norfolk was to ever host the men's tourney we could hear TMac wax eloquently about the home court disadvantage. It would almost be worth not having the thing in Richmond so we wouldn't have to hear the collective whine and caterwauling from the ODU fans about the Coliseum.

Agree. Easy to coordinate activities in Richmond. Most staff can live at home and save money. More central for other teams. It just isn't going anywhere.

The men's tournament at the Coliseum would be OK if they'd sink about $30MM into the dump and overhaul it. Can't we at least get some seats that don't look like Pamela Anderson sat in them for the last 10 years? Basically everything there needs to be upgraded or replaced.

If the scope is much nicer, I couldn't care less if the tourney goes there. VCU fans will still be there in force.
