The worst part was that we were handed JMU's head on a platter when Denzel Bowles fouled out early in the 2nd half... this team has what, seven players out right now to injury?

Well, one thing has been confirmed with this pathetic performance. We can kiss any chance of making it to the NCAA Tournament goodbye so far as this year is concerned.

This team has shown absolutely zero progression for the year on their road performances. Good teams have the ability to perform on the road, not just play well at home. This is something that this team clearly has not done this year.

They have blown road leads against Western Michigan, William & Mary, George Mason, James Madison. There doesn't seem to be any reasonable explanations as to why they can't hold a lead.

Perhaps we as VCU fans were fooling ourselves this year thinking that our team would be able to reach the NCAA tournament the year after losing one of our greatest players in Eric Maynor. I guess now we are all seeing what type of team that we truly have.

At this point in the season, we will be lucky if we make it to the second round of the CAA tournament. All rational VCU fans can forget about making the NCAA tournament at this point, and should truly be hoping that a NIT invitation is in our future for this season.

Joey Rodriguez was a complete joke of a point guard tonight, 5 traveling violations as a point guard is absurd. If anyone still thinks that Larry should be a first round draft pick is a fool. He had countless opportunities down the stretch in this game to take it over and came up shooting blanks with every opportunity. A total disgrace to our great division 1 program.

VCU BASKETBALL is back!

I believe in each game where we have blown a lead we came out flat in the second half. Not sure what Shaka has them drinking before the game, but we sure need a refill at half-time. SO disappointing. Anthony seemed to almost always have them coming out of the locker-room fired up to start the second stanza.
I was telling some friends after the game that I really am questioning my objectivity with respect to the talent level of our team. I really did believe in players 1-10 we had the best players in the league.
I hate being wrong.

We basically play 11 guys versus their 7 guys last night and their stud fouled out with 7:56 left in the game. We should have run these guys out of the gym based on those numbers.

We also played 5 guys 43 minutes last night and got zero points, 3 rebounds and 7 fouls out of them. That is absolutely embarrassing!!! Rozzell played 23 minutes with zero points, 1 rebound, 3 fouls and 2 turnovers. Why is he playing 23 minutes? He gives VCU absolutely nothing on the road and should be benched. His home and away stats look like two totally different people.

Regarding Sanders and Rodriguez, they may have combined for 29 points, but they each had 5 turnovers. They almost had half of the turnovers for the entire team.

Everybody associated with VCU basketball should be embarrassed by this loss

bowles was spent....his fouls were from being tired. having him foul out, in retrospect, helped jmu...jmu hit a couple big 3's and our guys were never in the game mentally especially in the 2nd half. Bowles had a total of 4 rebounds...but man he can score...defensively he is somewhat of a liability...

So that left JMU with only 6 other players that played last night versus VCU playing 11. Either JMU is in unbelievable shape to have only 7 guys handle our "havoc defense" or we just quit. You can spin it any way you want, but this team has no heart. Joey has been quoted after the last two games regarding how much he hates to lose. Where are the quotes from the other players? They are a bunch of under acheivers with questionable team chemistry and we are only 3 weeks away from the CAA tournament. Tueday will tell us a lot about this team.

Regarding the Bracketbuster game, everyone, including myself, complained about drawing Akron. It's starting to look like the people at ESPN knew what they were doing. We better come ready to play that game next Saturday!!!

silly as it sounds you play 5 at a time.

Most teams only rotate 7 or 8 for major minutes anyway. I am not defending our effort last night. I was there and have been at JMU before...The crowd was 5500 maybe the largest for them in a while and they got into it when the Dukes started their run. It was more like the old days at JMU. But our sencond half effort left much to be desired.

Our guys, hung their heads. Joey tried but there is not a leader on this team. Rozell is in such a funk that I dont think he should even play. His body language is I have given up. I am afraid that may be spreading. It is all about confidence. I am hopeful that once B hits a couple 3's that all of his woes on the court disappear. It will do wonders for this team

This is crucial for the rest of the stretch, and esp. come the first weekend in March.

Good chance at winning our next two home games against Akron and JMU.

If we are up by a significant amount over ODU in our last regular season game and end up blowing another second half lead this could have disastrous effect on our team's psyche going into the CAA Tournament.

We need to get on a roll with a win today as it will be the start of a 2 game winning streak and we need to extend this winning streak to build as much confidence as possible going into the CAA Tournament. It is likely at this point that we will be playing on Friday in the first round of the CAA Tournament. With this realization our guys need to be playing their best basketball of the season as they will need to win 4 games in 4 days in order to be wearing their dancing shoes in March, which is no small feat for any Division 1 team.

So lets get this party started, and go kick the s-it out of Akron today!

Go Rams!!!
