Funny little VCU mention in the Washington Post's DC Sports Bog

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcspor ... e_for.html

Look, I know the president likes basketball, and I understand he has a thing for the Bulls--whom he watched lose to the Wizards last year--and the Oregon State Beavers--who are coached by his brother-in-law, and whom Obama watched beat GW on Saturday.

Still, enough is enough. If he's going to be this big sports president, let's get him to a Caps game, and a D.C. United match, and a Nats game--despite blatantly snubbing the team this spring--and maybe some hot VCU basketball action. Stop playing favorites. I mean, VCU is ranked way ahead of GW in the Atlantic 11.

Richmond and W&M need to move up in that poll. Frankly, UR should be ahead of us for now.

I've seen Richmond play twice. The look really good. They will be ready for us.

I would definitely agree, and as a voter for the atlantic 11 I can tell u that on my ballot Richmond and William and Mary were both in the top 5. And boy did it hurt as a Ram to give UR props! Those r going to both be true tests for our Rams! I think we pull them both out, but it will be tough!

I hope the Atlantic 11 Poll has an editor for spelling on whatever is submitted by their voters. ;)

It distresses me that RamBand is a "knowledgeable voter" for the Washington Post.

Yes, always a bad thing when VCU and a sitting President are connected in any way.
If you must vent, the OT forums are wide open.
