Not only the title of a movie but also a description of Mason's board lately. I thought ODU would be the ones having a fit over us leaving but instead its the Putrid Patriots. Kinda amusing. I saw a ODU poster say "no wonder VCU left". Man you know you're bad when ODU calls you trolls

but yet there are still folks on there trying to reason with them and people are still partaking in flame wars.

it is good to see that most (unfortunately not all) vcu people have shown enough restraint to stay away from the garbage. too bad some still don't get it.

I got suckered into an ODU post comparing Lee and Sanders...couldn't help myself. That said, it was in a post that talked about this board... so I wasn't too sad to post and see it stay atop their page.

Yup and you gave them exactly what they wanted. They want to rile VCU posters back onto their boards because they are frankly shocked how everyone just left. They will continue to do those things (ie. taking over the VCU board on the Zone) so that we will come reclaim it or something. You play right into their hands. Why else do you see VCU bash fests on Mason's board all of a sudden? They couldn't care less when we were there. Same with the general boards and the ODU boards. They all have a few threads about VCU. It's pathetic and hilarious at the same time. They have nothing to talk about so that's what they are resorting too. We have plenty of stuff to talk about with our program right now with our recruiting situation and new coach and whatnot. Let 'em be. You just indulge their idiocy by responding to them and give them exactly what they crave.

well this thread makes it a mutual obsession... and frankly the overt and tantrum-like exodus is quite troll-empowering in its own right... had we simply grown participation over here and made a gradual transition we wouldn't have made such a juicy target for ridicule ...which seems like something we might have wanted, if it is indeed disgust with ridicule that was a motivation

I don't think anyone could have predicted everyone would leave just like that. I do see your point though, I just think some posters have been less than judicious in posting over there. I could care less about what any non-VCU fans think honestly and would rather people not bring up stuff from there from now on unless it's VCU basketball related.

(A) probably won't work because the dude seems to only hear Mason fans if even them. Needs to get the green out of his ears.

(B) Ignore feature might work

(C) Dont bother trying. The guy pays attention to himself and only himself. Its kind of like a cocky Boondocks except not as explosive.

art...I'm surrounded by kids at school (elementary music teacher) and have a 2 year old and 9 month old at home and my free time is severely limited...I enjoyed the Zone for quite a while, but I'm not into "playing games" of the message board variety. I like the latest info and rational discussion of ALL things VCU basketball or RVA in general....Ramnation offers that as the Zone has become a playground for mental midgets and attention-whore children.

You can't reason with a troll because they don't want reason. They want attention and something to argue about. When you do respond, you play right into their hands. You can't win. I applaud you for staying the course there and I understand why you do. You have been there a long time and have many friends on those boards. You are frankly an icon for VCU. I don't have those kind of connections there so I don't feel anything really about leaving. Good luck wading through all the crap on there though.
