ODU In Game

WTF - ESPN360 just switch games at the worst time. F-ESPN
 
It was a nice run. I hope we get a good NIT spot.
 
I guess it was ESPN360's way of sparing me the sights of ODU fans celebrating. :(
 
ugh, so painful. 12 point lead with 12 minutes to go. What a way to end the season - the same way we lost most of the other games.
 
Well, our guys gave it everything they had.

It just wasn't enough tonight.

Hopefully Larry comes back for his senior season and VCU could have a great year next year.

22 Wins for a first year coach isn't too bad, pretty good year overall.
 
Good effort in the tourney. The guys showed a lot of heart. But this is about what we should expect given that we didn't get a bye and had to go through the 4 and 1 seed to get to a final. Lee ate Sanders for lunch - - that was the difference IMO. We had no answer for him - - glad to see him graduate! ODU will be no where close to the same team without him.

The 12 point lead? You had to expect a lead like that wouldn't last - - we've given them up all year and it's ODU/VCU - - gonna be close.
 
What a gut wrenching heartbreaker. I love VCU, great effort by all the guys, it's sad to think Larry most likely ended his VCU career on that note (NIT is meaningless in my opinion)God what a bummer.

Lee won them that game, he dominated. End of story.
 
As I observed all year long, this was another example of sub-par coaching. It was obvious to everyone in the country watching the game who knows anything about basketball that the team was completely lost out there. It looked like their leader was a kid which it was in Shaka Smart; no control over his ballclub. It's really too bad because this team is so exciting, has such personality and also talent. If Anthony Grant is coaching this team, we are #1 in the CAA and tourney champs.

Don't want to be all negative though, Shaka did win 22 games in his first year coaching midmajor D1 ball. He's got LOTS of room to grow.

Come back next year Larry; you ARE NOT ready for the rigors of NBA ball and my opinion is that if you go now you will get lost on an NBA roster and not make it past your first contract. You've got a lot of work to do.

Lee was on fire. Everything he threw up went in. I remember him missing one, but he was there for the put back.

helluva game... not perfect by any means, by either team...but very hard-fought, by both teams
