The Tar Heels took the lead on Enzo Martinez goal off an assist from Josh Rice at the 24:11 mark if the first half. With 46 seconds left in the half Asante gathered a deflection from sophomore Yannick Smith (Hillsborough, NJ. ) and knocked it in for the equalizer and a 1-1 halftime score.

Apparently a gigantic fluke as tonight they lose to the, at the time, 1-5-1 Delawares.

the fluke is ODU losing to Del. Soccer is a strange sport in that the best team does not always win. You dominate the game for 89:55, have that 5 second lapse, and you can lose. ODU has an excellent soccer program, and has for quite a while. We need to take them down Wednesday. Come on out and heckle the butterflies!!!

When will the NCAA replace soccer with Rugby? Now that's I sport I really don't understand, but looks interesting.

just go to a Field Hockey game... EVERYONE is lost, but we cheer like mad anyway! It looks interesting too, I mean, a wise man that reads these boards once told me... who cares about rules? there's skirts involved...

replace?
most big time schools have both

VCU is number 1 in the CAA, 9th in the South Atlantic, 24th ranked by Goal.com, riding a 8 match unbeaten streak, and playing ODU at home. That should be enough reason to show up. Not to mention the team is led by a coach who helped lead Akron to the national championship game last season.

Some of us talked to him before the season. He said soccer needed its home field advantage which is why he turned to the Rowdies and the fans that show up on regular basis for the soccer games to draw more people. He said it was up to him to give the fans a reason to want to show up. So far the coach is living up to his end of the bargain.

(Keep in mind Akron is home to the major soccer supporters known as the AK Rowdies. The coach wants sportsbacker to be like that someday)

Goal.com isn't NCAA.com... just sayin'. We aren't even getting a vote there. JMU is tied for 25th, Towson getting 16 votes and is "28th" and ODU with 3 votes at "40th".
