Oklahoma - Pre-game intro audio clip?

Make it happen. Do we need to form a strike team to access the soundboard?

Sorry, but when a guy hits the ropes and falls to the floor, you don't hit him when he is down. For me, it would be mean spirited to use this sound bite. Savor the win, then move on. We have much more basketball to enjoy.

This would be pre-game. Well before Capel hits the ropes and we're savoring the win :-D

Now, John, if Capel were to make such a sound bite, I would say, "Play it loud, play it amplified, and play it over and over (for those of you who took Philosophy 101, you can see where I am practicing "situational ethics"). Not good in normal life; but okay in basketball!

That WAS Capel's soundbite! :)

Besides, he won't be down when we're kicking him, he'll still be standing at that point. Kicking a standing man is perfectly within manlaw! :)

Sorry, I misread the whole thing. I was thinking of our last game. Yes, play it!

Am I the only one who would love to hear this over the loud speakers before the starting lineups are announced??

excuse me for me being a young vcu fan...but what is that from?

That was from a home game during the Capel era against UNCW. The game was played at noon and we got rocked from start to finish. The score at the half was 49-28, and UNCW was by no means an explosive offensive team during that stretch. We ended up losing by 31.

In my opinion, that season (02-03) was our most athletic and talented team that we had during the Capel and maybe even Grant era, with Willie Taylor and Emanuel Mathis added to the core that went to the NCAA's in 03-04 that included Doles, Godwin, and D. Jones.

Very depressing game and very disappointing season, ending with the Robert Battle travel/layup to knock us off in the CAA tourney semifinals, though if we had won that game we would have only won the right to get kicked in the junk by the Seahawks again in the final....

Classic stuff, John. Hysterical and stands the test of time.

4Life--and if I remember correctly didn't UNCW open the second half on about a 14-2 run? It was one of those "we'll see what they are made of......uh-oh" moments.

Interesting, too, maybe, that Capel's maturation as coach can be traced from that game to the UNCW game that closed out Mike Doles's time in the Siegel Center? I'm thinking we all remember that one, too......

We'll see if it stands the test of us storming the AV room to take over the sound board.
