Ongoing Recruitng

Can someone (more knowledgeable than me regarding these recruits) tell us how Taariq Muhammad stacks up compared to guys like Eblen and Vilarino? Would we realistically have a chance to land this kid?

Rivals has him as a 3 star, Scout has him as a two star and unranked with Eblen and Vilarino in their top 35.

In February the Scout article said he was being recruited by UAB, LSU, Virginia, Cincinnati and Central Florida with only UAB offering. It's kinda odd that there isn't more info on his recruiting.

Description from 4/20/09

TAARIQ MUHAMMAD
Muhammad is a 6-2, 160 pound PG from Norcross High in Georgia... Plays AAU ball for Georgia Stars 16... Averaged 8.3 ppg, 8.6 apg and 2.5 spg... Long, wiry lead guard with a pass-first mentality... Has excellent speed and quickness and great court vision... Runs the team and seems to display good leadership... Must improve his shooting and be a more consistent finisher once he is in the lane... Excellent on-ball defender... He can apply relentless pressure on the ball but must add strength to take his game to the next level... Providence, LSU, Kentucky, Virgina Tech, Virginia, and UAB are watching.

Actually, we'd better hope this recruitingrumors.com guy is full of crap. If you read further down, here's the following tidbit I found a bit troubling:

ESPN was the first to report Jaimie Skeen leaving Wake Forest. Skeen would be a great D2/NAIA player. I am working on numbers as I type.

A great D2/NAIA player? If we're not getting more than that in Skeen, I'll be shocked.

AG, I agree, I think they are full of it. Did you read their disclaimer:

Also, the Sidney/Muhammad game plan makes absolutely no sense. They are on different levels in terms of talent and both would be severely restricting their options if they were a package deal. Plus Sidney is likely to leave after a year or two for the NBA. Muhammad is definitely a 4 year college player.

I think that whole scenario is bogus.

Mistachill,

Doesn't Antoine Willie have another year of eligibility? He isn't 30 yet, is he?

Sign that guy up. He was one of my favorites. Maybe we could have him change his name and fake a birth certificate.

Reporters do this every day. Did you forget about channel 6 using facebook?

Every company has one. Here is ESPN's! In more detail

All companies have standard disclaimers. Good try though!
