Per Shaka Smart's twitter:

Brandon Rozzell is off to a great start this summer. Can't wait to see his game take another big jump!

VCU Basketball Strength Coach Daniel Roose just put up a video of Brandon doing Vertimax training with a weighted basketball. You can view it here.

I think we are all excited at how Brandon finished off the year with a 27 point performance on the road to win the CBI. With more hard work this summer, hopefully we can see Brandon really make a jump for next season where that kind of performance becomes more common.

ALL RIGHT BRANDON!!! That is some serious work! Rumble young man rumble :P

Re: Brandon Rozzell's Working Hard This Summer!

It is great to see this young man getting it in...I believe that his game is going to be that much better next year because he is creating a strong base in the off season.... :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

Re: Brandon Rozzell's Working Hard This Summer!

BA Walker, Jamal Shuler and Eric Maynor are also in town working out with our guys.

BA played his first year at a true good European level. He did pretty good. How does he look physically? Is he any bigger? How about Shu?

This is good stuff and a good recruiting tool. It shows guys who play here do get paid at some level.

Now if we can only coax Nick to give us a summer :D And before someone slams me, I know he will be working hard trying to first keep his spot on team Britain, and if successful trying to help the team make the olympic draw.

Any word on Dom?

Michael Anderson also spent a couple days in town working out with his old teammates in preparation for his workout with the Knicks.

Fun Friday my @$$. That doesn't look like fun at all. Great to see everyone is working so hard this early on in the summer though.

Re: Brandon Rozzell's Working Hard This Summer!

Saw JPR back on campus the other day too with BA

Re: Brandon Rozzell's Working Hard This Summer!

No truth in the rumor that the Knicks might sign the trio of Nice, JPR and All Day?

Dave is working hard. However, he needs to raise those knees and get his head up :) ( I am an old soldier)

Good to see even the guys on the end of the bench working hard. Hinton is a good sized kid. Maybe by his Senior year something happens.

Roose put up another video of our guys working out yesterday. This time it was guards with Joey Rodriguez, Troy Daniels, and Darius Theus doing 6 chin-ups followed by 5 rips with a heavy ball.

I gotta say, it's nice to have all these updates and videos during the offseason, it makes you feel almost as if you were there. :)

Great job coaching staff, between Coach Smart and Coach Rhoades tweets and Coach Roose's workout videos we have a pretty good look into how things are going on Broad St.!

Here's another tweet from Shaka:

Really impressed with the improvements Bradford Burgess continues to make with his body. Stay at it, Brad. Your future is bright!!!

It is. If this kid develops a mean streak, the sky's the limit for him. Kid dropped 30 on the road at Drexel as a sophomore. He's been a starter since he stepped on the floor at VCU. He's 6'6 in shoes and around 220 pounds now. He could be very special when it's all said and done. Brad, this is your year to step up and show everyone what you've got.

Here's one from Mike Rhoades:

if it wasn't for JRod, I'd would be running a little kids camp next week. Glad your my guy Joey! Work hardest!!

It certainly sounds like the guys are working hard!
