Since I've now seen all the CAA pep bands over the last two days (save Deleware of course), I was wondering your thoughts on some of the other schools. I'll assume that everyone here is going to be all for VCU's, so there's really no reason to compare to us, I suppose just who's the best of the rest?

Heading into the weekend I knew I liked Towson, and frankly, while it's fun to hate on Mason's often times chaotic ensemble they're not exactly horrible. I was pleasantly surprised with Drexel's pep band last night, I thought they sounded great. James Madison's was certainly loud and picked up with enthusiasm as the weekend went on. It's cool seeing some of the small differences in school's pep bands, like the marching band flavor of William & Mary's.

The Hofstra-Northeastern matchup was...interesting at least. Over the last two days I was thinking Hofstra's pep band was pretty...not good, but the longer they were out there I really gained respect for the passion of their band. They didn't sound the best but boy were they passionate. Northeastern on the other hand played their music fine, but it seemed like they slowed everything down so much. There version of "Bad Romance" was pretty weak. Then again, as soon as I was about to write them off they played music from Pirates of the Carribean which I thought was pretty cool.

Any other thoughts or favorites from the weekend's pep band performances?
