Pierria Henry involved in football fight

As a follow-up, Henry (at least--don't know about the other suspended players, but then as a Ram fan I'm only interested in PH) was allowed to play Saturday. His team (#4 South Charleston) won 29-28. Henry scored on catches of 79 and 60 yards. South Charleston is in the state finals against #2 Martinsburg this Saturday.

I'd love to get some additional info on Henry and his plans since he didn't sign with the Rams. I suspect that football is his choice moving forward, but we'll see. Is Shaka Smart still recruiting him, or have they parted ways? Sounds like a great athlete, and from what I've read a good kid--the fight stuff sounds a bit murky.

As it has been said before, his age was an issue. When you are 17 you need a parent/guardian's signature in order to sign. That seemed to be the big issue in the early signing period. I'm hoping Pierria will sign during the next signing period.

yeah I sort of thought the fight was old news that we weren't talking about a whole lot ;) but yeah I really hope this kid signs! When is he 18?

He won't be signing with VCU.

Care to shed some light on his reasons for not signing? Football scholarship? Loss of interest from our staff? Interest from high-majors? Family issues?

If it's out of the question, sounds like we're no longer interested.

Tough family situation. I doubt he signs anywhere period. Off chance he may sign locally but even that is a stretch.

Sounds like an unfortunate situation for him. I wish him the best of luck and hope that he can still get a college education in the future regardless of what may or may not be going on at home.

Easy for me to say, but I had my doubts from the beginning. What a waste of time, effort, and resources. Ugh.

Not really a waste. The kid was/is a great player and would have upgraded our backcourt. However, it is tough for a young kid to focus on making the best decision for himself. Typically they do not have the resources to do so.

Maybe just maybe he has a change of heart and signs. We are not at the level where we can simply turn our backs on kids who have second thoughts.

In any event, I wish him well.
