Just saw this in the RTD.

Don't know if it was posted earlier or not.

Virginia Commonwealth University basketball coach Shaka Smart picked up his second early commitment for the 2011 season, landing 6-4 guard Pierria' Henry out of South Charleston, W.Va.

Henry was an all-state basketball selection as a junior this past season, helping South Charleston High to the state semifinals. He plays wide receiver and defensive back in football and was the most valuable player in last year's Class AAA state championship game.

Rule of Thumb #1 - if it appears in the RTD that means the info has been posted here a minimum of 24 hours prior to their article.

Hey did you guys hear?!! Larry Sanders declared for the draft! ;)

I just heard Joey is homesick and going to transfer to Rollins College to be closer to home. This really stings especially after Eblen left to be with Grant :D

Breaking news:

Anthony Grant has resigned as VCU mens basketball coach to take a position at Alabama. Supposedly, VCU is hiring some assistant from Florida...Smart Shaka or something like that - supposed to be a good recruiter though.

some 2 star recruit just signed with vcu named eric maynor, I am not so sure about this guy.

I just wish Pierria' was from Peoria, Ill.

Named after the Peoria National American tribe,Peoria's city motto is "Will it play in Peoria?" Supposedly, Peoria is the most "average" city in America, in terms of demographics. The idea is that if something becomes popular in Peoria, it will be popular anywhere.

Pierre, the capital of South Dakota, would be another nice hometown for VCU's latest recruit.

Also, you wonder if Pierria' is named after veteran big-league outfielder Juan Pierre, who is from Mobile, Ala. Pierre, the 1996 Sun Belt Baseball Player of Year while at South Alabama, actually played against the Rams in the NCAA tournament at LSU.
