I think the team knows that he has got their back. For a second year coach who didn't get a lot of attention last year he has been handing all of this attention very well. He has been polite and respectful, but has also stood up for our team and called out some of the media heavyweights when the situation called for it as well. My favorite was after the Purdue game, sometimes you don't need to elaborate.

"I know that you believed that you could win this game, but were you a little surprised by the way you did it tonight?"

"No."

I kind of hate speculating about this crap, but Shaka's comments in this presser really suggest that he's gonna stick around for a little longer. I think it will be worth it just to here him punk the media some more.

He's said quite a few things in numerous press conferences that hint towards him staying here. Only he and his family truly know at this point but I think we'll find out soon enough.

Watching this and other press conferences he has done throughout this whole run I have found myself wanting to run through a wall for this man, he just gives you the inspiration to want to do your best and make him proud!

yeah the way Shaka has handled the unbelievable pressure of not only being a small mid major school going up against BCS giants one after another but also having some of the biggest sports analysts in the nation telling us that we do not belong here has been amazing to me. I could not have more respect or admiration for this guy. Several things that he has said over the last three weeks leads me to believe that he will stay. I almost have more confidence that he will stay than I did three weeks ago about us making it into the tournament. If he does decide to leave, it will be an enormous let down to VCU basketball IMO.

Not only did I grow up swimming competitively, I worked as a lifeguard for 10 years at pools. When I finally graduated to big-boy-job status it was to work in a lab where I deal with chlorine gas and its constituents on a daily basis. So lemme tell YOU about chlorine exposure! Not only am I not a basketball expert, but I couldn't tell whether Shaka Smart has good character or if he is a lawn gnome. Oh well go Rams!
