Overall great game for the Rams. We did look a little unenthusiastic out there at times but I think the crowd is what helped will us to victory.

Cannot say enough about how great our crowd was there tonight. Totally drowned out the minimal GW fans there and you could tell the players really fed off it. Shaka even smiled at us a few times. Well done VCU fans!

Joey was the leader as always, great game for him and the other great performance was Jamie Skeen who played exceptionally well. Larry to me looked to have a pretty average night, nothing special but good contributions. Also, a pat on the back for Troy Daniels with 8 points. He had 2 good 3 pointers and made both free throws down the stretch when we really needed them.

All and all a fun game to watch in a pretty cool gymnasium. Looking forward to another great showing next Monday.

Commentators said it over and over...

"Points guards shouldn't leave their feet!"

Joey does this over and over and over again and tonight he drew two charges as a result so I hope it was a lesson to him.

Also, poor clock management skills yet again by VCU. Taking ill advised three pointers with plenty of time on the shot clock isn't the way to ride out a lead.

We also are often out of position and give up too many points in the paint. Need to crack down on that as well. It really hurt us tonight as well as our last two games against ODU and George Mason.

Other than that, congrats to the team for the win tonight! Nixon and Skeen definitely played their hearts out...

You must have seen a different game than i did...that hardly qualifies as a "great" performance/game. we left them open time and time again in the 2nd half and got burned for it. Joey took two terrible shots towards the end of the game when we needed to run clock and he had way too many turnovers. We can't outrebound a good YMCA team..our rebounding is awful. Nixon and Burgess played their usual solid games and Skeen did a nice job overall but we got virtually nothing out of the center position (sanders, kirill, saintil)...

somehow, someway we have got to find someone that can rebound the ball for next year...god i hope toby veal is the answer because if he is not, we may get out rebounded every game we play !

I guess I had a good feeling coming home after this one. Sure there were negatives to the game and as always we have plenty of things to work on but I chose to highlight all the good things I saw. I don't think you're wrong in most of what you said, just not what I focused on what ended up being a good game to me

I agree with you. We got the win, but in no way was it "great". Definitely a sloppy win over an extremely lesser team. Rebounding was terrible. Joey and Larry are the only two players on our team that I would say both help and hurt us at times. Joey hurt us several times with his errant passes and ill advised shots. I think most people forget about these things because he also does a lot of good for the team as well. I did like seeing Larry taking it to the basket tonight. He didn't seem scared for once and it's something I didn't see much of all year. I think if all we work on this offseason is free throws, rebounding, ball handling, and clock management then we easily win the CAA next year with a chance of making some noise in the NCAA.

Agree on the crowd - can't find fault with them tonight - or can we, let's go to the judge - morrisar, what say ye??

Extremely lesser team?

They were a one man show (Hollis) and if we played defense tonight like we are of capable of then this wouldn't have even been a game.

Btw newsflash... George Washington (RPI 148) 16-15 overall 6-11 Atlantic 10

So yes, I'd say they were a far lesser opponent!
