Props for the PEP band

By the way, I meant to ask: the Pep Band seemed to have replaced "VCU Go Rams Go" after a free throw but I wasn't able to make out what it was they were saying. What was it? It makes no difference to me what we say, it'd just want to make sure we're all on the same page.
 
i don't know when it started, but its been like this ever since i've been here. "Woosh. VCU. Caaaan Doooo iiiiit"
Again, i don't know why we do it differently, but it makes it alot easier to keep the noise going after we make free throws
 
Oh young grasshoppers.... The VCU pep band started the wooosh VCU CAN DO ITttt chant many many years ago when most of you were just mere freshman in high school. Pretty funny I was standing on the platform, Bo Jones is on the free throw line. He makes the first free throw one of the band members yells "You can do it". From there it was born WOOSH VCU CAN DO ITTT!!!

It never caught with anyone except the band because back in those days the cheerleaders were not very cooperative and dance team didn't care less. No one wanted to cheer except a few faithful fans. Besides imitating what a pep band does makes you a dork right?

Last year I remember after Birdsong fouled out the students and band sang "Hit the road jack don't you come back". I found that pretty amusing. That would be awesome to see appear in a game again should a opposing player foul out.
