Props to Shaka

I loved the way Coach changed defenses DURING possessions....zone, tyhen match-up zone, themn man...all in the same possession - that wi;ll rreally confuse even seasoned players - totally screws with youngsters

I would like to respectfully disagree with you. Chuck Noe was one of the finet defensive minds oin coavching, and oine of the few coaches that taught D to his players back then.

I wouldn't for one second want to besmirch Coach Noe's legacy. He certainly was a fine basketball mind, inventor of the mongoose, nee four corners. However defense was not the forte' of his Ram teams. Otherwise how could Eastern Kentucky score 107, Louisiana State-New Orleans score 99, division II ODU 98, Norfolk State 109, Morehead State103, Centenary 102, Middle Tennessee 102, Austin Peay 102, Texas A&M 98, Maine 91, Auburn 117, Centenary 97, Memphis State 92, and Centenary 98, all in losses by his Ram teams.

Again, I would like to most respectfully disagree, as I am new to the bords (not the program) and I don't want to step on any toes. I love the vigor you display regarding research. Don't know if you played the game ....heck, maybe we were teammates...so I don't want to appear as if I am lecturing you. You may be far more knowledgeable than I am. But, simply put, the game was different then. Nuff said on the subject. Arguing with a fellow Ram supporter in not my intention or desire.

COACH SMART LIVED UP TO HIS NAME TODAY!!
Great job getting the team ready and then running the game start to finish.
First two years of being a head coach and his record is better, this year to last, road record is better and now tournament record is better. All very positive signs and just for added bonus he seems to be hitting his stride at in game adjustments.

So...what you're saying is we 'played Havoc on our opponents psyche'? Nice game, Coach.

After rewatching the game, at one point the announcers were saying "VCU set up in zone....no wait, they are going man to man."

The announcers weren't the only ones befuddled. The Patsies were also.

Gotta give Shaka and the players thier props. Shows we can play zone. Hopefully he is not afraid to do the same thing tomorrow night.

it seemed like a decent avatar after the Drexel win......I was really diggin' my Truffle Shuffle avvy but it wasn't playing while I was on my school computer. My other favorite (Jesus and Liam polishing their "balls" from Big Lebowski is apparently too big......pixel big, I mean  )
