If you're coach, how do you approach playing time for these next three?

I would tell the kids nobody has a free pass and if you aren't producing or coming out full steam in practice, you won't start. No matter who it is.

Not quite sure but I do know I'd have Burgess stay at the 4 so we can heave more threes and have no chance at rebounds. It didn't work in the beginning of the year and hasn't worked when we tried to go back to it after our winning streak, so I'd definitely continue doing it.

I wouldnt mind seeing DJ get the start. He has been coming along nicely.

Still not sure if i would start DJ over Reddic. Yes Reddic looked like a freshmen last night with some dumb shots but i still think he brings a little bit more offensive shooting to the game than DJ.

Joey
Rob
Brad
Juvonte
Jamie

I would make sure that Rob, DJ, and Juvonte each get AT LEAST 20 minutes. If Toby is back Friday, I would trim Deej and JuJu to 15-20 with Toby getting good minutes also. We need to play bigger and get more rebounds. Also if I were coach and I see Joey grabbing more boards in the paint than Jamie...I would send Jamie to the bench until he gets the message.

I have been pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect him to see much action this year, but he's coming along and isn't afraid to mix it up.

I agree, Rob should get the start. I'm tempted to say Haley as well, but I'm still up on Reddic. Maybe I'm seeing things, but I feel like Rob and Jevonte play well on the floor together.

I don't know if Rob should get the start yet but he looks to be the best slasher to the basket recently and he had an amazing drive to the hoop (where he got fouled and didn't get the call) and still made it. We need somebody getting into these defenses to get Skeen open on the inside and our other players open for other drives or open shots.

I don't change much. Start the same group and adjust minutes based on who is hot. Some guys disappear in games, others step it up. Get the hot players going and let it rip.

I'm not about "next year". Far too much basketball to go.

Reddic does have a better offensive game from what we have seen so far. But DJ seems to be more willing to get physical. Juvonte looks a little timid out there when it is time to get physical.

there is plenty of time out there for both Ju and DJ. Both are improving and learning the speed of the college game. DJ impresses me as being tougher than I thought he would be. He still gets up under the basket sometimes but he'll learn how to establish himself in the lane and make himself more of a rebounding and scoring threat.

When Joey has 8 rebounds and Reddic has 2 rebounds, we've go a problem. And then to score only 2 points on top of that. In addition, Toby Veal can't seam to stay out of street clothes on game day this year. Maybe Hinton should be the one getting more minutes.

I had been on the go with the big lineup (play Brad at the 3) bandwagon, but with the trouble that we're having creating offense, I think that we may be better in this regard to go small again...perhaps with Rob thrown in there in place of Reddic. Call me crazy if you'd like. Besides, Brad seemed to do better when we were playing small.

For sure though, if guys are screwing up multiple times...take them out of the game, please?

I couldn't believe that Shaka stuck with Brandon after he took that bad shot, then didn't get back on D and then compounded things by intentionally fouling Tate. I seem to remember that he came back and made a layup on one of the next possessions...but if we're doing all of these things so poorly collectively, then it's time for Shaka to start holding individual players accountable. I know that it's generally not good to have guy's playing like they're scared of screwing up, but if this has been our approach then perhaps we need to recognize that it's not working.
