Pussycat Nation upgrades...

The home page still looks as if were designed by a precocious chimpanzee. I've seen better graphics on the sides of New York City subway cars.

so true... the forum part does look better, but it wasn't all that horrible before, it's always been the front/main page that looks like a tripod or anglefire-hosted Jim Varney fan-page from 1997... like they didn't use Geocities because it was too edgy

LOL...hilarious!

Their "news" page is still listing info from 2009.

All laughing aside. I'm just very happy that the VCUnation has such dedicated and competent admins. Thanks for all you do!

So proud. Our annoying little brother is getting all growed up.

Our board might not be a spiffy as this one but we our posters are still top notch and unlike you all, we actually have something relevent to talk about since we start our second year of football in a few months,

LOL. Of course we can't say anything to that.

The draft will be a nice distraction for a couple of weeks, but after that it will be slow indeed.

I check in on occassion, first time I've posted since early March. Someone has to straighten you guys out every now and again.

since this is the MN thread....I HIGHLY reccommend you guys/gals read the 2011 recruits thread on their main boards.

DB availed himself quite well and it's actually a truly interesting read.

good stuff DB.....you even uncovered some sensible posters over there :D

Is there any thing that can be accomplished in D-II football that will even compare to having an NBA first round draft pick? Sure you have something to talk about, but I guess our definition of relevant differs greatly.

Been there done that Hoss. We've had quite a few NBA players, I'm sure you don't need me to list them for you.

And quite frankly, I was in the exact same boat you were BEFORE ODU got football. Didn't care, it was lame, only 1-AA, big deal. Wake me up when we start playing FBS football.

But then something happens. You see the excitement develop around the school and the alumni, you start waiting for that first game to come, it gets there, you tailgate with your buddies, get nice and toasty before the game and then when you enter a sold out stadium, see the fighter jets flyover and a guy parachute in with the gameday football and watch your first ODU football game, your opinion changes completely. Add in the fact that we went 9-2 in our first year and its all gravy.

I'm sure the same attitude you are taking now is what ACC and Big East aholes say about the CAA. Well yeah, you can beat us every now and again, but you've never won an NCAA Championship in d-1, your minor league! But seriously, who really cares, we get to play our rivals (not you guys or Mason, but W&M and JMU will do for now). Look at the threads on the Zone.....24 pages of smack and another one of 27 pages with those 2 schools. It's been a blast watching them squirm and get defensive knowing that ODU is coming for them and just like in basketball, because of our alumni support, funding, location, admission standards, facilities etc. will be better than them in a short amount of time.

But like I said, you can't really understand until you have a team of your own. You guys root for VCU no matter what, you are passionate diehards. ODU fans are much the same way, so who really cares if its 1-AA or 1-A? It's still your alma matters football and its still a blast to go to, especially once we enter CAA play.

Tell Joe Flacco, Brian Finneran, Dave Megget, super bowl MVP Charles Haley, Brian Westbrook, Tim Hightower, Marquis Colston, Super Bowl MVP Darren Sharper, Ken Lucas, Mike Tomlim, Rich Gannon, Mike Flynn, Sean Landeta, Sean Jones, Wayne Chrebet and a bunch of other guys who you probably wouldn't know that CAA football sucks.
