Jeremy Lamb, son of VCU former great Rolando--did our coaching change impact our present low interest, or is Jeremy not interested in following dad? [since we're chasing Brandenburg (guard) I was curious]?

I recall VCU's "glory days" when Lamb and Duncan were among top 5 backcourt combo's on east coast D1.

Jeremy Lamb – Norcross (Ga.) Norcross
DT's Breakdown: The son of a former college player, Lamb rocked the Peach Jam where his blowup came at the expense of regional mid-majors. A future Top 100 player, we love our late bloomers and he qualifies! Shooting is his forte, but he's not bad going to the rim either.
Schools Involved Kentucky, Texas, Marquette, Georgia, Clemson,

Can't really blame the kid for going after whatever school fits him best. Henderson did it, and it looks likely that Lamb will do the same.

Apparently Alabama and Xavier have offered also.

Jeremy was very interested in VCU in April when he played at the boo williams tourney with his AAU team. At that time all we had was a head coach and one assistant. Mike Rhodes was there and saw Jeremy play (mike was still the head coach at RMC at the time). He was pretty impressed by jeremy's play. At that time, only mid major schools were recruiting Jeremy. Rolando said that Jeremy just blew up at the Peach Jam and schools like UConn, KY., Texas, Florida and many others started calling every day. Jeremy has a chance to play at the highest level and on national t.v. almost every game by signing with one of those schools. Its nothing against VCU at all. Rolando still loves VCU and he was at the CAA Tournament this past season. Its just an opportunity for Jeremy to play for a big time program. that's all its about.

We'd have to make room on the squad for the son of a former ram of such greatness as Rolando but it would have to be at the expense of somebody else....we are getting a little guard heavy at this point.

Don't matter because Lamb has no interest in coming to VCU

Love the avatar Shine, I absolutely love VCU basketball but I've been a Horns fan since I was about 8. Here's hoping Colt McCoy does some great things this year...

This seems quite strange to me. I mean... I completely understand that you'd want your son to be with you- traveling, learning, growing, etc. And the father-son thing would be awesome. But isn't it more important that the kid goes where he is comfortable? And where he wants to attend school? Didn't most of us that went to college, and were lucky enough to have the opportunity to leave home, take advantage of that? We wanted to stretch our wings a little bit. And the "shadow" thing makes total sense as well.

I just don't get the perspective that this guy has about his kid. I know he'd love to have him playing there, but to actually be trying to change his mind?? Wow. I don't get it. Not every kid is the same.

Found this article about Jeremy's recruitment and Rolando knocking NU and Calhoun out of the tournament. Of course Calhoun is still blaming the refs. Hopefully Jeremy can get some PT. I know there is much mention of Mandelove on here and the risk you take of getting recruited over at Uconn. Same thing happened with a point guard the Spiders could have really used 4 years back - Garrison. Uconn swooped in at the last second and offered and he sat on the bench for two years before eventually transferring. The bad part is that Calhoun is not the diplomatic type and I'm sure once he decides a player is burning a schollie he wants he will make it miserable until he leaves. Hopefully Lamb is good enough to avoid this situation.

That reporter really does his research. According to him it was a second round game and we made the Sweet 16.
