My Dads B-Day is next month and he is a HUGE VCU basketball fan and I want to get him a dvd of the 2008-2009 season. I saw the advertisement that ramnation is selling dvds and I was wondering is it of the games, highlights or what. If it is just highlights does anyone know where to get all/most of the games in dvd format. Thanks

It's highlights and analysis. Good ones though :)

For full game tapes you'ld have to ask people on here who recorded games on their DVRs, and some of the NCAA tournament games you can buy on Amazon.

Definitely get the RamNation DVD. GREAT work by these guys.

You can get the NCAA tournament games at NCAAOnDemand.com. They don't have the UCLA game available yet though.

Man- That was a blast from the past! I remember the 84' last second shot by Ro Lamb. Holy crap-m that was just awesome. But here's what i do not understand- and maybe one of you other old-timers can explain:

Nicky Jones is one of my all-time fav RAMS, and i still believe had he not gotten hurt, and had he started his career at VCU, that he would have gone down as one of our all-time greats. I loved his game, and only wish he could have had more time at VCU.

Now, with that said, I would also say that Rolando Lamb WAS one of the best RAMS of all time, and a truly amazing point guard, with a multi-faceted skill set that you don't see very often. The guy was a killer defender, with the quickest hands you'd ever see. He was a pure point guard, and an excellent passer, and he still managed to run the team, despite the fact that was a fantastic jump-shooter. Coach Barnett definitely slowed him down, but he was just a great player all the way around. And he was our starting P/G from the day he walked into the joint. It was Calvin that actually had to wait a year to start, since Monty was still in town, and at the 2. So here's my million $ question- Why was Nicky starting in the Northeastern game? For the life of me, I can't remember now. I didn't remember at all that Ro wasn't the starter. Do any of you remember what the deal was? Obviously, Ro hit the game ender. Why was he not starting?

Off Topic: Since something similar was brought up...What did Mike Nice do to earn a spot on the bench at the end of his Senior season? I wasn't reading the boards back then and have always wondered that.

On Topic: I don't see how you can go wrong with getting the Ram Nation Highlight DVD set for deer old Dad. Great highlights and analysis from a memorable season. Getting the full games from the entire season really isn't an option since some of the games were not even televised, and it would probably be a long shot to even be able to get a hold of the majority of them.

My guess would be when he spiked a basketball 20 feet in the air after W&M went ahead in the CAA semi final game

I asked Coach Grant that back in the day in the post game and he said something to the extent of basically Mike not taking that time in his career seriously enough, etc etc, basically hinting that Mike did something immature or broke some kind of team rule or something.

I almost lost my sh....t when he did that. God, I was like, "seriously, if we get a technical I will not be OK ..." We didn''t thankfully, and we still lost, and thanks for bringing it up.

P.S. I ban people ..
